Emerson Bearing Boston Expands Inventory of Super Precision Bearings, Offers eBook Technical Guide

January 14, 2016 //  by admin

EB_logo2C_tagline_5inEmerson Bearing of Boston, a supplier of bearings and related products catering to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) and Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) markets around the world, has expanded their Super Precision bearing line and offers a complimentary eBook entitled The Art of Precision Bearings: Handling, Mounting, and Technical Guide to Precision Bearings.

High-speed turbochargers, balancing machines and other equipment that needs to operate at radial speeds of 400,000 RPM utilize higher Super Precision ball bearings. Emerson’s expansive Super Precision bearing line now includes Barden, GMN, Nachi and NTN brands. The company also offers a complimentary comprehensive technical guide that may be downloaded from their website emersonbearing.com.

“Super Precision bearings provide the best operational efficiency and can actually extend the lifetime of heavy machinery,” explained Steve Katz, president. “These ‘super’ bearings can facilitate a variety of uses and needs when you match the right bearing to your equipment’s specifications and operation.”

Machinery that uses Super Precision bearings

Super Precision bearings are ideal for applications that demand a high degree of running accuracy, have high system rigidity, need to extend speed capabilities and maintain low heat generation as well as minimize noise and vibration levels.

The optimized dimensional performance and operational capabilities provide a return on investment that exceeds that of standard bearings. Applications where precision bearings provide the greatest benefit include metal cutting and woodworking, super precision lathes, vacuum pumps used in industrial and sterile environments, high speed rolling mill machines, as well as printing, milling and balancing machinery.

For more information about Super Precision bearings, contact Emerson Bearing experts at 800-225-4587. To download Emerson Bearing’s eBook, visit their website  http://info.emersonbearing.com/art-of-precision-bearings.

Emerson Bearing Boston Forms New Division as Plastics Processing Heats Up

December 18, 2015 //  by admin

EB_logo2C_tagline_5in

Due to increased demand nationwide, Emerson Bearing Boston, a supplier of bearings and related products catering to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) and Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) markets around the world, has created a special division to cater to the plastic processing and forming industry.

In the U.S., the plastics industry is the third largest manufacturing industry and there are more than 16,200 plastics facilities, according to SPI, the plastics industry trade association. Emerson Bearing’s growing plastics clientele spans the nation and includes manufacturers of plastic wine corks, plastic bags, plastic strapping and other products.

Emerson Bearing’s industry specialist, Bill Zylicz, leads the dedicated plastics division. The company caters to plastic processing and forming manufacturers across the U.S. in two major categories – extruder and injection molding machines. In an extruder, the processed plastic is pressed through a nozzle into a profiled die. The extruder gearbox is subject to high torques as well as high radial and axial loads. Injection molding machines are used for the production of parts in large quantities. The screw feed and the linear bearings must be insensitive to heat and vibration and have high basic static and dynamic load ratings.

When it comes to supplying bearings to the plastic processing and forming industry, ensuring that the bearings are able to withstand heat and vibration is just part of the equation. Zylicz assists clients in determining which bearing technologies would be most suitable by taking into consideration the specifications, recommendations, maintenance strategies, fatigue life and wear resistance of bearings in relation to the application.

“In order to keep with production schedules, regular monitoring, maintenance and replacement of bearings is critical,” said Steve Katz, president of Emerson Bearing. “Manufacturers turn to us for our expertise, competitive pricing and overall reliability. We offer a vast inventory and 24/7 service, which helps them avoid costly down-time.”

For more information about Emerson Bearing’s Plastics division, contact Bill Zylicz at 866-995-8762 or email bzylicz@emersonbearing.com.
