Westport, MA subdivision, Briggs Landing, to offer additional model homes

June 24, 2014 //  by admin

The Clarendon, one of the additional model homes being offered at Briggs Landing in Westport, MA

WESTPORT, MA and SOUTH EASTON, MA…

Stonebridge Homes, the builder for Briggs Landing, recently announced the availability of four additional model homes for the 90-lot subdivision located off Tickle Road in Westport, Massachusetts. The additional models include The Beacon, The Charles, The Clarendon and The Dartmouth.

The additional models will supplement the model homes currently available, The Fairfield and The Westport, on which Stonebridge Homes recently began construction. Stonebridge Homes is working with developer Briggs Landing, LLC to build out the remaining 60 lots of the subdivision.

“The additional models give home buyers some smaller square foot options to choose from compared to the 2384 square-foot Fairfield model and 2686 square-foot Westport model,” said Stonebridge Homes Site Manager Joe Chaves.

The ranch-style Beacon model starts at 1585 square feet and features two or three bedrooms, with a master suite on the first floor, two full bathrooms and a double-car garage.

The Charles features 1720 square feet, three bedrooms, two and one half bathrooms and a double garage.

The Clarendon features 1815 square feet, three bedrooms, two and one half bathrooms and a one-car garage.

The Dartmouth features 2090 square feet, three or four bedrooms, two and one half bathrooms and a two-car garage.

All models available at Briggs Landing feature  energy-efficient, quality construction and luxurious amenities, such as hardwood floors, granite countertops. All models are equipped for natural gas heating.

In addition to the comfort of luxury living, Briggs Landing offers convenience. A short commute to Providence, Rhode Island (within 30 minutes to the capital building), New Bedford and Fall River, the Tickle Road location is within close proximity to the beaches of Westport and walking distance to South Watuppa Pond.

“All the models available at Briggs Landing offer luxury living for empty nesters, newlyweds, single parents, blended families and others who may have grown tired of the limited inventory of existing homes in today’s real estate market,” said Rami Itani, business manager for Stonebridge Homes.

Houses at Briggs Landing start at $379,000. To view floor plans, please visit Stonebridge Homes website, www.stonebridgehomesinc.com, and click on the home page link for Briggs Landing.

Open house hours are Saturday and Sunday, 1pm to 4pm. For more information or to make an appointment for a tour of Briggs Landing, please call Mel Antonio at 508‐728‐2656.

Baker, Braverman & Barbadoro P.C. donates legal services to Quincy Center for Innovation

June 24, 2014 //  by admin

Theresa Barbadoro, Esq.

BOSTON, BRAINTREE AND QUINCY, MA…

New businesses face many challenges. Some of the most daunting of those challenges are ones the business owner might not be aware of because they do not seek legal counsel prior to opening their doors for business. In an effort to help new businesses avoid potential legal pitfalls, Baker, Braverman & Barbadoro P.C., a dynamic full-service law firm with a team of attorneys advising individuals, businesses and families throughout Quincy, Braintree, the South Shore and metro Boston areas, is donating legal counsel to the Quincy Center for Innovation.

Each month, Baker, Braverman & Barbadoro Attorney Theresa Barbadoro holds office hours at the Innovation Center’s Eastern Nazarene College location at 180 Old Colony Avenue at the campus in Quincy. During the four hours she’s there, Barbadoro counsels new businesses on issues ranging from business classification (e.g. incorporating vs. LLC) to asset purchases and more.

“Our Firm’s bread and butter is small business. We have counseled many over the years and have seen some very promising new businesses either not get off the ground or attain more success because they did not consult an attorney prior to starting their business,” said Paul Barbardoro, a partner at Baker, Braverman & Barbadoro, P.C. “By offering free legal counsel, we can help fledgling startups get their legs underneath them without legal issues tripping them up down the road.

In addition to donating time on a monthly basis, Baker, Braverman & Barbadoro have been involved in other Quincy Center for Innovation activities. This spring, Warren Baker, another partner at the Firm, served on the judges’ panel for the Center’s Quick Pitch competition. Similar to the premise of the hit television show “Shark Tank,” the Quick Pitch contest had entrepreneurs pitch their ideas to a panel of judges, with the best winning a $2,500 prize.

“The best part about working with new business owners is the enthusiasm they have for the product or service they are trying to bring to the market,” said Theresa Barbadoro. “Their passion and energy usually ends up inspiring me and I look forward to my time at the Center each month.”

For information about the Quincy Center for Innovation, including Baker, Braverman & Barbadoro’s hours at the Center, visit http://quincyinno.com.

National Social Work Month highlights how social workers are absolutely essential,” noted Diana DiGiorgi, Executive Director of OCES.

Recycling for a cause. Lombard Waste Services totes percentage of 3rd quarter gross to cancer fundraiser.

Matt Romboldi, owner of Lombard’s Waste Service, with the teal recycle bins touting ovarian cancer awareness

PLYMOUTH, MASSACHUSETTS

To Matt Romboldi, owner of Lombard Waste Services, Inc., business is personal. That’s why Lombard Waste Services will be donating one percent of its gross to the Run for Faith, a four-mile road race/cancer fundraiser in memory of Matt’s late mother, Faith “Marcy” Romboldi. The run takes place on Sunday, August 24 and begins at Plymouth Plantation.

“This is the fourth year we’ve held the Run for Faith and we’ve raised thousands of dollars for Dana Farber’s Yawkey Center for Cancer Care, scholarships for graduating seniors at both Plymouth North and Plymouth South, and other local Plymouth charities that were near and dear to my mother’s heart,” said Romboldi. “Donating one percent of our gross for the third quarter is just another way we can help more people with the money raised by the Run For Faith.”

To kick off the third quarter fundraising drive, Lombard Waste Services will be distributing new teal and yellow recycling bins for current Plymouth customers. The teal totes are designated as a single-source recycling bin. That means plastics, glass, cardboard and paper can all be collected together, without having to be separated, in the teal bin (teal is the color for ovarian cancer awareness, the type of cancer Mrs. Romboldi died from).

Locally-owned operated, Lombard Waste Services specializes in solid waste removal for residential, commercial and industrial customers. Lombard’s Waste Services offers commercial dumpsters for restaurants, hospitals, hotels, retail shopping malls, small businesses and residential homes. Fully licensed and insured, Lombard’s provides 7-day emergency service and prompt, friendly service throughout Southeastern Massachusetts.

Multi-Town March for Meals a Success

June 17, 2014 //  by admin

State Representative Keiko Orrall delivers a meal to Elin Young

Old Colony Elder Services (OCES), the Brockton based regional agency serving older adults and individuals with disabilities, recently organized a “March For Meals” in Middleboro, Plymouth and Stoughton.

March for Meals is part of Meals On Wheels Association of America’s national campaign.  Elected officials from the three communities along with OCES and Council on Aging representatives delivered meals to 25 recipients in their respective communities to show support for this vital program.

In Middleboro, State Representative Keiko Orrall and Tim Valentine, Assistant Executive Director of OCES, delivered meals to local seniors.

In Plymouth, Selectman Mathew Muratore, Conni DiLego, Director of Plymouth Council on Aging and Tim Valentine, Assistant Executive Director of OCES, delivered meals to seniors.

In Stoughton, Selectmen John Anzivino and Cynthia Walsh joined Christine McLaren, Community Programs Manager of OCES and Karen Hall, Director of Stoughton Council on Aging, delivering meals to Stoughton seniors.

“It’s an honor to have local officials participate in our March for Meals event. Throughout the area, many seniors are homebound and unable to manage their grocery shopping or attend one of our congregate meal sites.  The Meals On Wheels program is essential to them, as they would otherwise not get a nutritious daily meal. Furthermore, the daily social contact is crucial to check on the safety of seniors living alone,” said Diana DiGiorgi, Executive Director of OCES.

The Meals On Wheels program serves individuals age 60 and over who are unable to prepare their own meals.  Both the Home Delivered (Meals On Wheels) program and the Congregate Meal sites rely on the assistance of our many volunteers.

Meals On Wheels volunteers and donations are needed. For more information about volunteering, contact OCES’ Volunteer Coordinator at (508) 584-1561. Donations to support OCES’ Nutrition Program may be sent to: Old Colony Elder Services, 144 Main Street, Brockton, MA 02301.
