Tracy Chevrolet Cadillac donates $500 to Boys & Girls Club as part of “Win a Free Car Night” at Plymouth Pilgrims

June 24, 2013 //  by admin

Tracy Chevrolet Cadillac’s John Fasolino presents a check for $500 for the Plymouth Boys & Girls Club at the Plymouth Pilgrims game on June 17. The donation was the consolation prize as part of the Win a Free Car night. Also pictured are Plymouth Pilgrim’s Owner Dave Dittmann (left) and Pilgrims GM Chris Patsos.

PLYMOUTH, MA…

Jeff Tracy, president of Tracy Chevrolet Cadillac, decided somebody was going to be a winner at the “Win a Free Car” night at the Plymouth Pilgrims last week. So when the fan selected to try and win a 2013 Silverado came up short in his effort to hit a ball off a tee out of the park, Tracy Chevrolet Cadillac donated $500 to the Plymouth Boys & Girls Club.

“It would have been great to give away a brand new truck but for somebody who’s not an active baseball player hitting a ball off a tee is hard enough without having to drive it more than 300 feet to get it out of the park,” said Tracy. “We decided somebody was going to walk out of the park with something and I can’t think of a more worthy cause than the Boys & Girls Club.”

The Plymouth Pilgrims’ Owner Dave Dittman and General Manager Chris Patsos accepted the check on behalf of The Boys & Girls Club. John Fasolino of Tracy Chevrolet Cadillac presented the check on behalf of the dealership. Fasolino, who drove the Silverado onto the field for pre-game ceremonies, also had the honor of throwing out the first pitch along with Massasoit Community College’s Charlie Wall.

“The Pilgrims have brought a lot of energy to Plymouth and we’re delighted to be a sponsor and help bring this level of high-caliber of baseball to town. And, if that relationship can help out another local non-profit like the Boys & Girls Club along the way, that’s even better,” added Tracy.

So easy at Tracy Chevrolet Cadillac

For more than 80 years and three generations of dealers, the Tracy family has made it so easy for customers on the South Shore and greater Plymouth area to purchase new and used automobiles. Since its beginnings in 1992, Tracy Chevrolet Cadillac has emphasized first-rate customer service and straightforward, bottom-line pricing with fair trade-ins every time–without the games or gimmicks you find at other dealerships. For more information on new and used trucks and automobiles, you can go to www.tracymotors.com or stop by the dealership, conveniently located at 137 Samoset Street, just off exit 6 on Route 3. For more information, or to make a service appointment, you can also call (508) 830-0101.

A donation with some teeth to it. Weymouth dentist donates filing cabinets to Raisin in the Sun Foundation

June 24, 2013 //  by admin

Dr. Rick Wolfert, AKA “The Toothboss”

SOUTH WEYMOUTH, MA…

Dr. Richard Wolfert, DMD, thought switching from paper to electronic files would not only make his South Weymouth dental practice run more efficiently but be greener as well. What he didn’t realize was how his conversion could benefit fellow dentists thousands of miles away in Haiti. Yet that’s exactly what happened as he donated to his filing cabinets to the Raisin Foundation.

Wolfert, also known as “The Toothboss”, heard about the Milton, MA-based non-profit from a fellow National Guardsmen, Dr. Fidel Gabriel. The Haitian native told him of the organization’s efforts to get supplies to start a dental practice in Leogane, Haiti. Wolfert inquired as to the types of items the Foundation would accept and mentioned his filing system and the rest is history.

“The filing system itself costs approximately $2500 but the benefits of going paperless far outweighed the cost. To find an organization like the Raisin Foundation that could benefit from the donation of the filing system was icing on the cake. The fact it was going to help a dental practice was the cherry on top,” said Wolfert.

The Raisin Foundation is dedicated to collaborating with the people of Leogane, Haiti to improve the physical and mental health of the community and assist in the economic and technology development.

“As you can imagine, the equipment and technology that we enjoy and perhaps take for granted here in the U.S. aren’t available in remote places like Leogane,” said Wolfert. “I encourage dentists, doctors and other health care professionals to visit The Raisin Foundation’s website to see if they need other items. One man’s upgrade is another’s treasure.”

For more information, visit RaisinFoundation.org.

The future of dry cleaning comes to OKC. Lapels Dry Cleaning opens at 13801 North Bryant Avenue location.

June 21, 2013 //  by admin

Owner Brian and Stacy Culver in front of the new Lapels Dry Cleaning store located at 13801 North Bryant Avenue in Oklahoma City, OK.

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK and HANOVER, MA…

Lapels Dry Cleaning, an innovative, environmentally friendly dry cleaning company headquartered in Hanover, Massachusetts, will open a new location on June 22 in Oklahoma City at 13801 North Bryant Avenue. The OKC location represents the first Lapels Dry Cleaning location in the state of Oklahoma.

The new Lapels Dry Cleaning store is owned and operated by Brian and Stacey Culver. Store hours are Monday through Friday, 7 am to 7 pm; Saturday 8 am to 5 pm; and Sunday, 12 pm to 3 pm. The grand opening for the new Lapels will be held on July 20.

“We are delighted to bring Lapels’ standard of high quality dry cleaning and superior customer service to OKC,” said Brian Culver, who lives with his wife Stacey and their four children in Logan County.

A graduate of the University of Richmond, Culver had served as a helicopter pilot in the Navy, including combat stints in the Persian Gulf before entering civilian life and working for Country Financial. After growing up as a “military brat” and living that same life, Brian and Stacey opted for a little more control of their destiny by owning their own business.

“There are a number of franchises out there that offer discounts for veterans, but we wanted to make sure we selected a business that was right for us and our family. Since I have some background with restaurants and Stacey’s background is in retail, we looked at some restaurants and some other dry cleaners. Lapels struck us as a young and growing company that does things a little differently and is constantly looking for ways to improve and innovate,” said Brian.

Lapels has pioneered its eco-friendly dry cleaning experience for the past 10 years.  Using the latest technology in equipment and cleaning solution, Lapels is one of the few dry cleaners in the greater OKC area able to boast that there is no hazardous waste in their process. Their environmentally-friendly cleaning process has no odor and is gentler on clothes, thus lengthening the life of clothes. At Lapels you can see, feel and smell the difference.

Lapels customers are greeted to a warm and inviting reception area, with friendly customer service representatives, and a full service on-site tailor.

“We want to congratulate Brian on blazing the trail for Lapels Dry Cleaning to enter the state of Oklahoma. We look forward to continuing our support at the corporate level to help ensure the success of this Lapels Dry Cleaning and perhaps future stores down the road,” remarked Lapels Dry Cleaning CEO Kevin Dubois.

Lapels offers it’s customers Automatic Rewards earning them credit towards free dry cleaning for every dollar they spend, Loyalty Programs, a VIP Program which eliminates the need to wait in line and the use of a 24 Hour Drop Off Service. Same day service is also available with pick-up after 5 pm.

North students stack DECA…Tracy Chevrolet Cadillac recognizes Plymouth North’s driven marketing students.

June 20, 2013 //  by admin

: Tracy Chevrolet Cadillac General Manager Joe Wilkerson with award-winning Plymouth North Technical Studies Marketing students and their advisor Barry Cowgill and Vice Principal A.J. Butters.

PLYMOUTH, MA…

The original Godfather movie made famous the line, “It’s not personal, it’s just business.” For Plymouth North Technical Studies Marketing students participating in the DECA competition, however, business was personal. And taking it personally resulted in 14 students making it to the international DECA career development competition held in Anaheim, California on April 23-April 28, 2013. For that accomplishment, those 14 students received the Tracy Chevrolet Cadillac Driven Student of the Month award for May.

“DECA is an international organization that prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe,” said Barry Cowgill, advisor to the Plymouth North marketing students. “While it’s impressive enough that we had that many students make it to the international competition, three of those kids—Frank Gomes, Leif Burges and Calvin Ellis—won first place in the Knowledge Matters Virtual Business: Restaurant Simulation Event.  They beat out thousands of teams from all over the world.”

For being selected Driven Students of the Month, all 14 students were treated to a pizza party, courtesy of Tracy Chevrolet Cadillac. Students recognized included:

  • Frank Gomes
  • Calvin Ellis
  • Leif Burgess
  • Ben Pieroni
  • Shawn Westcott
  • William DiGravio
  • Catherine Achille
  • Nicole Varrasso
  • Kiley Schranze
  • Victoria Gilmore
  • Anna Colbert
  • Sarah Liscov
  • Ryan Boudreau
  • Matthew Moore

“We may be in the business of selling automobiles, but marketing drives that business. So, we have a solid appreciation of the accomplishments of these students and they are most worthy recipients of the Driven Student of the Month honors,” said Joe Wilkerson, Tracy Chevrolet Cadillac general sales manager.

Tracy Chevrolet Cadillac’s Driven Student program recognizes Plymouth high school students for their performance and achievements in and out of the classroom. Awarded on a monthly basis, recipients are selected by faculty and advisors at the student’s given school.
