Gratitude behind Tracy Chevrolet Cadillac food drive. Plymouth automobile dealership to hold canned good drive for month of November to support local food pantries

October 28, 2013 //  by admin

Jeff Tracy, president of Tracy Chevrolet Cadillac

PLYMOUTH, MA…

For the second year in a row, Tracy Chevrolet Cadillac has teamed up to fight hunger with the South Shore Community Action Council’s Greater Plymouth Food Warehouse to host a canned food drive at the dealership’s 137 Samoset Street (Route 44) location. The drive will take place during the month of November and all donated goods will go to the Greater Plymouth Food Warehouse, which provides food to more than 30 emergency food pantries and soup kitchens in the greater Plymouth area.

“We’ve always believed that being in business was about being part of the community. As part of the community, we feel it’s important to help out those who might be going through a bit of a tough time,” said Jeff Tracy, president of Tracy Chevrolet Cadillac. “We encourage everybody to stop by the dealership and make a contribution to the drive.”

As an added incentive, Tracy Chevrolet Cadillac is taking $10 off an oil change for customers who come in with canned goods to donate. Customers simply need to present their canned goods when they check in for an oil change and the $10 will be deducted. Depending on the type of vehicle you drive, that can be a savings between 15 and 30 percent.

Containers for the food drive will be located throughout the Tracy Chevrolet Cadillac showroom. All canned goods and other non-perishables are welcomed and accepted.

“Last year’s drive generated 385 pounds of food, which equates to 296 meals. We can’t thank Tracy Chevrolet Cadillac enough for stepping up once again to host a food drive during this critical time of year,” said Steve Bailey, of South Shore Community Action Council. “The winter months and the holidays always present challenges in getting food to the people who need it. We’re hopeful that Tracy’s customers and people in the area will get in the spirit of the Thanksgiving season and give generously to this drive.”

That kind of generosity is nothing new for Tracy Chevrolet Cadillac. Since its founding in 1992, the dealership has been involved in a number of charitable endeavors. That includes supporting The Driven Student Recognition for students at Plymouth North and South High Schools, the Boys & Girls Clubs, and many more.

King Collision earns Factory Certified designation

December 20, 2012 //  by admin

PEMBROKE AND PLYMOUTH, MA…

King Collision Centers, a family-owned and operated collision repair center, recently earned Factory Certified Collision Repair Facility designations from Acura, Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, GMC, Honda, Infiniti, Jeep, Nissan, Volkswagen and Volvo. King Collision Centers is the only collision repair center in the greater Plymouth area to hold designations from all these auto manufacturers.

“Most collision centers will have one or two members of their staff, usually technicians, complete this kind of training and then promote themselves as certified by the car manufacturer,” said Bruce King, owner of King Collision Centers. “At our centers, every technician and all our administrative staff have successfully completed the rigorous factory-approved training from these vehicle manufacturers. That means every one you come in contact at King Collision has been approved by your automobile’s manufacturer.”

Training is one part of the certification process. The facility itself must meet certain standards as it pertains to specialized equipment. Both King Collision Centers in Plymouth and Pembroke met all the specialized equipment requirements needed to receive the Factory Certified Collision Repair Facility designation from the aforementioned vehicle manufacturers.

“Getting into a car accident, whether it was your fault or not, is bad enough. Bringing your damaged automobile to a collision repair facility that doesn’t have the training or the equipment to repair your vehicle safely, correctly and to your complete satisfaction makes a bad situation worse,” said King. “Having all our people attain this designation gives our customers a level of comfort, confidence, and peace of mind knowing that their vehicle will be restored to pre-accident operation, safety and value by factory-trained technicians using their vehicle manufacturers approved equipment and procedures.

Anyone Can Remove Dents – King Collision Centers Removes Doubts

Founded in 1984, King Collision Centers provides superior collision repair and extraordinary customer care to thousands of clients south of Boston. King Collision is dedicated to earning customers for life and their team of professionals’ help clients through the collision repair process every step of the way – from coordinating a rental vehicle; providing accurate damage appraisal; assisting with the insurance claim process and ensuring that the vehicle is returned to pre-accident operation, safety and value.

King Collision Centers was voted “Best Collision Repair” by Market Surveys of America and they have been selected to participate in the Repair Shop Referral Programs of 20 different insurance companies.

King Collision Centers are located in Pembroke and Plymouth, MA. For more information, visit KingCollision.com or contact 508-747-2005.

Tracy Chevrolet Cadillac puts it in drive. Plymouth automobile dealership teams up against hunger to support local food pantries

October 31, 2012 //  by admin

Tracy Chevrolet Cadillac teams up with the South Shore Community Action Council for a food drive to help supply local food pantries with much needed inventory for the holidays.

PLYMOUTH, MA…

Tracy Chevrolet Cadillac has partnered with the South Shore Community Action Council (SSCAC) on a canned food drive at the dealership’s 137 Samoset Street (Route 44) in Plymouth. The drive will take place during the month of November and all donated goods will go to SSCAC’s Greater Plymouth Food Warehouse, which provides food free of charge to more than 30 emergency food pantries and soup kitchens in the greater Plymouth area

“There’s no better way to express gratitude for what you have by helping out those who have not been as fortunate,” said Jeff Tracy, president of Tracy Chevrolet Cadillac. “With Thanksgiving just around the corner, we wanted to do something for families in the area who are having a tough time. We encourage everybody to stop by the dealership and make a contribution to the drive.”

The food drive tubs are located in the Tracy Chevrolet Cadillac showroom at 137 Samoset Street. Canned goods and other non-perishables are welcomed and accepted.

“We can’t thank Tracy Chevrolet Cadillac enough for hosting this food drive as our shelves are almost empty,” said Beth Thompson, Food Resources Manager at South Shore Community Action Council. “The greater Plymouth area has grown quite a bit in recent years. While that’s good on one hand, it also has meant that more people are in need of our services. That’s why we truly appreciate when a business like Tracy Chevrolet Cadillac teams up to help out.”

Making history by teaching safety…King Collision Centers’ involvement in Plymouth Safe Driving Campaign is one of a kind.

December 2, 2009 //  by admin

PLYMOUTH, MA…

As a catalyst in the current Plymouth Safe Driving campaign, it’s been King Collision Centers’ intent to teach safe driving habits to young drivers in Plymouth. Inadvertently, the Plymouth-based collision center has made history as perhaps the only collision center to initiate a safe driving campaign.

“Obviously, you never want anybody to get hurt. On the other hand, we do earn our living repairing automobiles. So it’s more than a bit unusual for a collision center to be a central figure in a safe driving campaign,” said Bruce King, owner of King Collision Centers. “Frankly, in all my years in this business, I don’t think I’ve ever heard of another collision center doing something quite like this.

The Plymouth Safe Driving program is a multi-pronged approach to promoting safe driving habits for Plymouth North and Plymouth South high schools. Working with Plymouth Public Schools, the Plymouth Police Department and Commerce Insurance, King developed a Web site, www.plymouthsafedriving.org, offering safe driving and a safe driving contract for young drivers and their parents. The contract acts as the young driver’s pledge to drive responsibly.

Plymouth high school students who turn in a signed contract to their principal at either Plymouth North or South high school will be entered into a drawing for In Control’s Crash Prevention Training course (a $350 value).  In addition to the winner, everyone who signs a contract and submits it to their respective principal is eligible to take the In Control Crash Prevention course at a 10 percent discount.

“The In Control training has a phenomenal record, reducing crashes involving new drivers by 70 percent,” said David Antocci, vice president of claims at Commerce Insurance. “If that’s not incentive enough, most insurance companies offer a discount on your auto policy for drivers young and old who complete the In Control training.”

As a reminder for young drivers to drive safely, the Plymouth Safe Driving campaign has and will continue to place two smashed cars at high traffic locations in town. Most recently, the two cars were at the Plymouth North-Plymouth South Thanksgiving Day football game. In addition, volunteers manned a booth and handed out safe driving tips and the student-parent driver contracts.

Over the winter months, students in Plymouth South High School’s Technical Studies program will repair one of the smashed vehicles and then sell it.

As for King, he’s comfortable making history with the Plymouth Safe Driving campaign, even if it’s potentially at the expense of getting business.

“The reality is that collision centers are never going to completely run out of business. With so many automobiles on the road, it’s just the law of averages,” said King. “With this campaign, if we can help just one kid become a better driver and avoid a serious accident, it’s well, well worth it.”

For updates on latest events and activities related to this program and additional safety information, please periodically visit www.plymouthsafedriving.org.
