Viamark Advertising, an ad agency franchise company, brings big agency creative and boutique agency service to local and regional clients

September 10, 2013 //  by admin

PLYMOUTH, MA…

When Viamark Advertising announced its new franchise offering earlier this year, it drew the attention of industry media giant Ad Age magazine, which touted Viamark as having a unique agency model that clearly filled a niche in the advertising agency industry. While the article was a milestone for the long-time industry veterans who founded Viamark, Glenn Anderson and Mark Storie, it did not go their heads.  In fact, the exposure has made the two increase their focus on helping advertising professionals across the U.S. realize the dream of owning their own advertising agency.

“We’re looking to get the word out to advertising professionals all over New England and beyond that the goal of owning their own agency is within reach. That takes a consistent effort utilizing a number of different vehicles,” said Anderson, noting that Viamark Advertising recently joined the International Franchise Association (IFA) and the New England Franchise Association (NEFA).

Utilizing their experience in marketing and media sales management, Anderson and Storie developed a unique business model that enables franchisees to get up and operational quickly.  Viamark provides the resources to help franchisees offer media buying, creative services, ad production, and digital services to each of their clients.

“If you are running a one- or two-person shop, it can be challenging to offer all the advertising services clients need today” said Anderson. “We offer these resources, plus a proven formula for winning new clients and growing a business.”

Viamark currently has 12 franchised offices in four states. The company’s headquarters are in Plymouth, Massachusetts.

Anderson, a native of Norwell, Massachusetts, who began his advertising career in Braintree and Springfield, Massachusetts said: “Being located in Plymouth puts us in the middle of two important New England media markets, Boston and Providence.  We’ve had good success in the southeast and Philadelphia. Now that we’ve relocated our franchise operations to Massachusetts, my primary focus is opening new offices right here in New England.  Viamark clients receive the personal attention of a one- or two-person shop but get the creative and resources of an agency you’d find based in Boston or another major market. And that’s what’s very appealing to potential franchisees.”

“This is different from most other franchise opportunities in that you do have to have experience and knowledge of the advertising industry,” said Storie. “For the right individual who has that background and client relationships, however, we can provide the resources so they can avoid the pitfalls that a startup might face and allow them to build a book of business quickly. Together, we can bring success to our clients and our businesses faster than either of us can alone.  It’s a mutually beneficial partnership.  It just makes sense.”

With 12 offices in four states, Viamark handles more than 150 local and regional accounts from South Carolina to Massachusetts, in addition to national clients throughout the U.S. Viamark specializes in strategic media buying and creative services, including radio, television, print, outdoor and digital advertising.

Some of Viamark’s core industries include automotive, healthcare, pharmaceutical, education, restaurant, retail and real estate.

Maplewood Estates, located in Rockland, Mass., hosts its first block party for residents
Maplewood Estates, located in Rockland, Mass., hosts its first block party for residents

ROCKLAND, MASSACHUSETTS

While it might not rank up there with a day at the beach or pool, the neighborhood block party is one of the telltale signs of summer. For the residents of Maplewood Estates, a new subdivision located in Rockland, Mass., they experienced this rite of summer passage recently at the first annual Maplewood Estates Neighborhood Block party on August 24.

Many residents showed up for a barbecue, which featured food and refreshments. In addition to residents, representatives from Stonebridge, the builder of Maplewood Estates, and the Maplewood Homeowners Association were also in attendance.

“We have built more than 15 new homes at Maplewood Estates this year and it was nice to see so many of these new residents at the block party,” said Rami Itani, business manager for Stonebridge Homes, which is based in Easton, Mass. “When you build a home for somebody, it’s more than just a business transaction. You really do develop a relationship. It was nice to not only socialize with residents who have become friends, but to see new neighbors meeting other new neighbors.”

Located off Webster Street in Rockland, Maplewood Estates offers a rural wooded setting with easy access to major highways and is situated fairly close to Rockland’s brand new middle school and renovated high school. Set on 30 acres of natural wooded land, Maplewood Estates is zoned for 72 homes (there are presently 32 available home sites to build on). Featuring quality construction and luxurious amenities, Maplewood Estates offers 12 floor plans to meet buyers’ needs.

Prices for homes at Maplewood Estates start at $396,000 and model homes are available for tours, Monday through Friday, by appointment. Maplewood Estates hosts open houses on Saturdays and Sundays, 1pm to 4pm. Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Norwell is the official realtor for Maplewood Estates. You can schedule a tour or request more information by contacting Nancy Kleber at 781-659-7955 or Nancy.Kleber@NEMoves.com.

Non-Profit Organization Working to Restore Families is Seeking Proud Supporters to Sponsor Exclusive Building, “The Family Life Center”

September 7, 2013 //  by admin

SAFFT has launched its Fall Corporate Building Campaign to give local businesses the opportunity to help families in crisis by sponsoring the new Family Life Center building.

Atlanta and Cumming, GA

September 10th, 2013 – Supporting Adoption & Foster Families Together (SAFFT) is excited to announce new partnership opportunities for Corporate Business Sponsors, as the non-profit unveils its groundbreaking building, The Family Life Center, located in Cumming, GA this Fall. SAFFT’s newly renovated, state-of-the-art Family Life Center will provide natural families, temporary foster caregivers, and adoptive families a place for restoration, healing, and support. Generous businesses in the area currently have a unique opportunity to innovate alongside SAFFT by sponsoring a room in the new Family Life Center.

This unique building is a rare jewel coming to Forsyth County, providing a revolutionary solution to mend families and boost economic growth. In partnership with the CJCC and the Office of Violence Against Women (OVW) federal program, SAFFT will begin operating The Family Life Center, one of the very few centers of its kind in the state of Georgia. The Family Life Center expands SAFFT’s current visitation and community center from 2,000 square feet to 10,000 square feet and facilitates new programs that go beyond social services. “We are in lock step with the key social services partners including DFCS, CASA, and the courts to help these families step out of their situation and rebuild their life. This ensures a chance for generational change,” states Ashley Anderson, Executive Director of SAFFT.

This one-of-a-kind facility will feature a unique brick wall display, welcoming visitation rooms, and an engaging grand room available for corporate sponsors at respective levels. With integral support from local business operations, The Family Life Center can provide services such as a supervised visitation center for court ordered visitations, support for domestic violence cases to allow for safe child visitations and custody exchanges, parenting classes, Christian mentoring, a foster and adoptive support network, a resource closet, and child scholarships. “The Family Life Center is one major step towards helping heal families and provides a single place for restorations,” says Mrs. Anderson.

“Families in crisis are part of a generational cycle passed down to children, causing decades of child abuse, substance abuse, homelessness, and severe poverty. In partnership with the community and other organizations, SAFFT is aiming to cover the family with incredible support to restore them for generational change,” Mrs. Anderson illustrates.

SAFFT’s Family Life Center in Forsyth County will open in the Fall of 2013, immediately followed by a new Dawson County Visitation Center. SAFFT will conduct two separate ribbon cutting ceremonies which will include community open house activities.

Business corporations seeking interest in a partnership with SAFFT’s Family Life Center can visit http://safft.org/support-us/fall-campaign-2013 for more information.

About SAFFT

SAFFT, is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving, supporting, and empowering foster and adoptive children, their caregivers, and the entire family in crisis through a Christ-centered supportive network. Through years of working with hundreds of children and families, SAFFT discovered that families in crisis are part of a generational cycle passed down to children causing decades of family abuse, addiction, child neglect, homelessness, unemployment, and severe poverty. Since early 2009, SAFFT has successfully developed and implemented multiple programs of support at the ground level in Forsyth County Georgia and supports neighboring counties including Cherokee, Dawson, Hall, Gwinnett, and Fulton. The SAFFT model includes a supervised visitation center, scholarship programs for foster & adopted children, a resource closet, foster and adoptive gatherings including ongoing parent night out events, a domestic violence visitation & exchange program for victims, parenting classes, and a Christian mentoring program. SAFFT’s leadership strongly believes change begins with the entire community including the families in crisis, the children in foster and adoptive care, caregivers supporting the children, and organizations charged with protecting and serving the children and families.

Xander to Jacoby? What is in a name?

September 4, 2013 //  by admin

Is Xander the name of the next generation of Sox fans?

While any “pink hat” can name their dog or cat “Dustin” or “Papi”, it takes real Red Sox devotion to name your child after a favorite player?
Know anyone named Carl Yastrzemski Smith? Ted Williams Jones? Fred Lynn Green?

Yes, the Red Sox are extended family to many of us. Immediate family to others.

But what about today’s big league club. With greater cultural diversity in Major League Baseball, we have more exotic names to consider for the next generation of Sox fans.

Have you recently attended a christening or bris ceremony for a young Xander, Koji, Junichi, or Jacoby? Could be a great “themed” religious event.

And what impact will a unique sports star name have on a kid?

Perhaps that might make you pause before signing the birth certificate. Think about the pressure of referring to your newborn as “The Babe”.

Whether it’s your child, your pet or the name of your business or new product, name recognition is critical. It literally can define the course of human destiny and that of your business.

If we can help with your company’s name/brand recognition, please give us a shout.

South Shore Skin Center offers Teens Tips for Acne Flare-Ups

August 29, 2013 //  by admin

COHASSET AND PLYMOUTH, MA…As teens head back to school, many of them will have to face their peers while suffering from an acne breakout.

Acne affects almost everyone at some point in their lives, and teenagers can expect to experience at least one agonizing acne episode. The hardest hit are teenage boys. The good news is that eating chocolate or French fries does not cause acne. The bad news is that acne is typically caused by hormone fluctuations, which is something teens can’t control.

South Shore Skin Center offers these tips to help teens ward off acne flare-ups:

· Wash (don’t scrub) your face twice a day with a very gentle soap or water based skin cleanser. Oil and dead skin cells are typically the cause of pimples, so avoid any cleansers that contain oil such as cold creams.

· Never squeeze your pimples as it can cause an infection, worse acne and potentially scar your skin.

· Try using an over-the-counter product that is designed to unclog pores and dry up oil and blemishes (such as Clearasil or Stri-Dex). Be sure to follow the package instructions. Too much use of these over-the-counter medications may actually cause acne to become worse.

· Try not to touch your face. Although you can’t see it, your hands contain oil which is transferred when you touch your face and can cause a breakout.

· Your hair is another culprit that can transfer oil to your face. Find a hairstyle that keeps hair away from your face and do not use a lot of hair gel or other hair products because they tend to contain oil.

· Sunlight can actually aggravate acne. Try to limit your sun exposure. If you are going to be in the sun, be sure to wear (oil-free) sunscreen.

“Acne is caused by overproduction of sebum (oil), which is regulated by hormones, coupled with the obstruction of the pores. People can get acne at any age, but teens are most likely to experience it because it is triggered by hormone changes. Stress and some prescription medications can contribute to hormone fluctuation. Acne is not caused by foods such as chocolate and greasy French fries. In fact, severe acne is hereditary,” explained Ramzi W. Saad, M.D., Board Certified Dermatologist at South Shore Skin Center.

While most acne sufferers’ breakouts are not serious and do not result in scarring, at least 40 percent of all cases need to be treated by a physician.

For severe acne (up to a hundred or so pimples covering face and body) that may potentially result in scarring, South Shore Skin Center offers several types of treatments.

Dr. Saad continued, “Most cases of teen acne are not severe and can be treated at home. For severe acne and scarring, medical treatment is advisable and we offer several innovative therapies to heal and improve the skin.”
