Between Rounds Bakery Sandwich Café is supporting Samuel Adams & The Greg Hill Foundation Restaurant Strong Fund to help fellow Connecticut residents in the restaurant industry who have been impacted by restaurant closures during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Between Rounds Bakery Sandwich Café Launches New Digital Menu Displays

Between Rounds Bakery Sandwich Café, a growing fast-casual dining establishment and wholesale bagel supplier in Connecticut, has recently installed new digital menu boards at their Manchester, South Windsor and Vernon, CT locations.

Between Rounds recently upgraded their traditional menu boards – which were elaborate signs suspended from the ceilings of each of their Cafés – to electronic menu boards. The modernized signage enables Between Rounds to make instant menu changes and incorporate new additions to the menu boards at all of their Cafés at same time. 

Previously, if Between Rounds needed to make any sort of change, they would have to have a brand-new menu board designed and printed. Now, the corporate office can make changes remotely across all locations with just a few keystrokes. They are also able to create a custom design on screen in graphics and then post it on the board.

A section of the boards may be dedicated to new product images and the display theme may be changed anytime to reflect holidays, celebrations, special events and more. 

“We made a significant investment in this innovative technology that we’ve installed in our Manchester, South Windsor, and Vernon locations and it has been well-received by our customers,” said Between Rounds co-founder Jerry Puiia. “The digital menu boards provide us with incredible flexibility when it comes to announcing new products while also saving a significant amount of time when updates are needed. Jana Lee and Azaria Calloway, both Manchester residents, have been hired as counter staff at the Plaza at Buckland Hills location. For four years previous to joining Between Rounds, Lee was a cashier and sales clerk at Once Upon A Child in Manchester. Calloway previously served as an associate trainer for two years at Panera Bread, where she was recognized “Associate of the Quarter”. Calloway is currently studying criminal justice at American Intercontinental University and used to volunteer for Literacy Volunteers of Greater Hartford.

Between Rounds co-founder Jerry Puiia already appointed a new baker for the Manchester location and the hiring will continue as he expands the counter staff team.  The café was completely remodeled earlier this year, and now boasts upscale décor and an improved floor plan that facilitates quicker service and enhances the customer’s overall experience.

From Blank Wall to Work of Art – Between Rounds Bakery Sandwich Café Seeks Artists for Store Mural

Between Rounds Bakery Sandwich Café, a fast-casual dining establishment with four locations in Connecticut, is offering an opportunity to local artists to turn a prominent wall at their renovated Manchester café into a work of art.

After a complete remodel earlier this year, Between Rounds Manchester café, located at 1540A Pleasant Valley Road, has a whole new look and feel. Now, the store’s founders would like to put the finishing touches on their interior design with a breathtaking mural depicting historical buildings, monuments, landscapes, events and more – relevant to the town of Manchester.

The mural wall in the café measures approximately 10’ high by 20’ long. Artist(s) credit will be featured on the wall. Between Rounds will cover the cost of supplies for the mural.

Local artists and art students from Manchester Community College or any of the town’s high schools are encouraged to submit a quality rendering of their vision for the mural, along with details about the medium to be used (oil, acrylic paint, etc.). The mural may be completed by an individual artist or collectively, for example, by a class of art students.

“This is an opportunity for local artists to showcase their talent on a very large canvas, and be seen by patrons from the Manchester community and beyond,” explained Jerry Puiia, co-founder of Between Rounds.
