Renowned Matchmaker Julie Ferman to Oversee eLove’s LA and Westlake Village Offices

November 11, 2010 //  by admin

Julie Ferman

Julie Ferman, a renowned matchmaker and the former principal of Cupid’s Coach matchmaking company will head eLove’s newest offices in Los Angeles and Westlake Village.

eLove, the fastest growing matchmaking firm in the country, recently acquired Cupid’s Coach, bringing the total number of eLove matchmaking offices to 50 nationwide. Ferman, who has been in the matchmaking business for more than 20 years and who is responsible for more than 1100 marriages, has been named Executive Director of eLove’s LA and Westlake Village offices.

Ferman has worn a number of hats over the years, including that of personal matchmaker, consultant, dating coach, professional speaker and media personality. She has appeared on Good Morning America, The Today Show, NBC’s “Match Off”, E’s “Kendra” and was recently awarded iDATE’s “Matchmaker of the Year Award”.

In addition to offering clients both traditional matchmaking through eLove’s existing model and mutual selection matchmaking using detailed personal resumes and professional photos, eLove’s Ferman will provide high end personal matchmaking services and a full menu of coaching services to singles throughout California.

According to Ferman, “We’re very proactive about finding the right match for our clients. Now, with eLove’s expanded offerings, we can search for the right match from within our client base, as well as through the passive referral members we recruit through avenues such as events and affiliate referrals. It’s a win-win for our clients.”

“We help singles make that all-important initial connection with the right people. Our goal is to dignify and simplify the love search process for selective, relationship-minded professionals,” Ferman continued. “For example, if you’re a concert pianist with a passion for classical music who would like to meet someone in a similar profession with similar interests, we can help. We aren’t just going to provide our client with a number of introductions to people who may or may not be right for him. We’re passionate about making successful connections.”

Ferman is a member of the Board of Directors of Matchmaking Pro, the International Association of Professional Matchmakers. She is a frequent speaker at national and international Internet Dating conferences and received the Best Matchmaker award from the Internet Dating/Social Networking conference at iDate2010.

eLove Honors Single Dads with Complimentary Dating Membership

June 3, 2010 //  by admin

Did you know that the number of single dads in the U.S. has increased to nearly 2.5 million? (U.S. Census Bureau, 2006) As Father’s Day quickly approaches, it’s time to honor those special guys who “step up to the plate”.

eLove, the first company within the dating industry to offer both online dating and matchmaking services tailored around their clients’ stage of life, is offering complimentary eLove Select memberships to Boston and Baltimore area single fathers who set an appointment during the month of June.

An eLove Select membership is designed for singles who are ready to take positive steps to finding their perfect match, yet who are not quite ready to work one-on-one with an eLove matchmaker. An eLove Select membership helps singles make a strong first impression by separating and distinguishing them from the online dating crowd with a Platinum Certified seal. The seal is indicative of three important factors online daters seek while searching for their perfect match: that a member has been verified by eLove; s/he is motivated and serious about finding a relationship and s/he has completed an identity and background check. This all results in more contacts and more first dates for eLove Select members.

As a special complimentary service to eLove Select members, they will be made available to eLove matchmakers as possible candidates to eLove’s private “search” clientele. This expands eLove Select members’ opportunity to find the right one.

“We’re looking to help out the single dad who is ready for a relationship,” explained Paul Falzone, CEO of eLove.

Single dads from the Boston and Baltimore area can simply call Kim at 800-713-3317 to set an appointment.

In addition to the complimentary eLove Select membership, Falzone, who is a father of two, offers several tips to women dating who are dating a single dad on how to celebrate Father’s day:

Be sure to check with a single Dad first. Before you make any plans with your single dad on Father’s Day, check in with him first. As him what he really wants to do, and then do what you can to make it happen for him.

Nap time. So, your stressed-out single dad said he’d like nothing more than to lounge on the couch, watch sports and take a nap on Father’s Day. Good for him. Do what you can to give him that much needed time to himself. Arrange for a babysitter or offer to take his child(ren) out for the afternoon.

A “Dad” excursion. If Dad just loves to scheme up grand plans on weekends and holidays, then Father’s Day is no exception. If he wants the “whole gang” to attend a pro baseball game or go camping, fishing, golfing, deep sea diving or on some other adventure, go along with it and help him out. On the other hand, if your single dad really detests having to plan things, then plan the day. Be sure to check with his children first, to gauge their interest and ensure the day is a success.

Dine out. Unless your busy single dad’s favorite past-time is cooking, make his day exceptional by cooking his favorite meal or taking him to the restaurant of his choice. Be sure to call the restaurant ahead of time to make a reservation, if possible, in order to avoid an extensive wait.

Commemorate the day. Whether his favorite thing is power tools, software and electronics, golf or good cigars, a thoughtful gift of something he truly enjoys will mark the day for your single dad sweetheart and show him how special he is. If your single dad has young children, try to get them involved in celebrating Father’s Day by encouraging them to make their own cards or gifts. Talk with his older children to find out what they have planned for their dad and ask if they need help.

Valentine’s Day is Around the Corner – eLove Offers a Crash Course in Romance

January 26, 2010 //  by admin

Valentine’s Day is around the corner and the pressure is on to make it romantic. But, does anyone really know what romance is anymore?

Sure, there are plenty of “players” out there, both male and female, who know how to hook up. But how many of them know what it takes to win someone’s heart? How many more non-players are out there who don’t even know where to start?

Jill Vandor, Executive Director of Matchmaking at eLove, the first company within the dating industry offering both online dating and traditional matchmaking services explains, “There are those who will take their date to a candlelit dinner at a restaurant renowned for its ambiance, present them with a red rose and think that’s all it takes. These are nice gestures, but romance is so much more than that.”

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Vandor offers essential tips on what it means to be romantic with your date and the ways to do so:

Listen and pay attention. Whether they are talking about the work day or their dreams, listen and show that you’re interested. Make them feel important, because, bottom line, they are important to you.

Go out of your way. This may sound simple, but it’s not always easy to completely put your needs and wants aside once in a while. Take the time and make the extra effort to do what your date likes, even if that means attending a major sporting event or going shoe shopping.

Come to their rescue. We all have our strengths and weaknesses. If your strength is their weakness, then help them out. Do they need assistance hanging pictures or fixing a couple tiles in the bathroom? Step up. And, if you can’t do it, find someone who can. Either way, get it done.

Creativity and personalization is key. This goes back to the first point – listening. Since you have paid attention, you now know what your date likes. Use this information to make Valentine’s Day a day that really says “you’re special to me”. Download their favorite songs. Stand in line to get great seats to see their favorite music group, play or show. Arrange for their favorite flowers to be sent every month for 12 months. If you’re an artist, paint them a picture; if you’re a poet, write a love poem.

Vandor explains, “It’s a fairly simple calculation, yet so many people just don’t have the formula. What it boils down to is listening AND paying attention plus considering AND meeting your date’s desires/needs. Don’t be afraid to be bold. Express yourself, show your feelings and go out on a limb for them. Actions speak louder than words, so find a way to show you care; you’re interested and you’re there for them.”

Relationship Expert Encourages Single Seniors to Take Advantage of Technology and Practice New Dating Etiquette

September 24, 2009 //  by admin

As Unmarried and Single Americans Week (September 20-26th) is upon us, it is important to remember that a significant number of singles today are seniors.

According to U.S. Census Bureau News (July, 2009), there are 15.8 million single Americans who are 65 or older. These older Americans account for 16 percent of all unmarried and single people age 18 and older. Many of these seniors have found themselves single again after a divorce or the death of a significant other. Although many single seniors don’t wish to remain single, it can be hard to get back on the horse again after so many years out of the dating scene.

According to relationship expert Paul A. Falzone, CEO of The Right One and Together Dating, “Dating isn’t just for the young. It’s for the young at heart. Age doesn’t matter.”

As the CEO of one of the world’s largest brick-and-mortar dating services, Falzone has paired thousands of clients during more than 35 years in business. A large number of these singles were people over the age of 55 looking for friendship and love.

“When you’re a single senior, you’re looking for many of the same things that singles of any age are looking for – someone to spend time with who shares your interests and who has those qualities that you find attractive,” explained Falzone.

Take Advantage of Technology

Falzone encourages single seniors to learn more about and take advantage of technology. A traditional brick and mortar dating service that uses high-tech matchmaking software to match members in conjunction with matchmaker consultation services is ideal for single seniors. This type of “high touch” matchmaking service, such as The Right One or Together Dating’s, will help you get back out into the dating scene. Even if you don’t think you’re ready to look for love just yet and are more interested in making new friends, this type of dating service can be instrumental in introducing you to others who share your interests and who are also looking for friendship.

Many seniors are already knowledgeable about social networking sites such as Facebook and use it to correspond with their children and grandchildren. For those who aren’t familiar with it, Facebook is a great way to communicate with family members but you can also use it to get back in touch with folks you probably haven’t seen in a while such as former colleagues or high school and college classmates.

Have a hobby? Then there’s probably a “Meetup Group” for it. From quilting, photography and sports to dining out and more, you may find others with similar interests online at Meetup.com.

New Dating Etiquette

For single seniors who haven’t dated in a long time, perhaps even decades, Falzone advises of the new dating etiquette:

· Meet in a public place by your own transportation. Play it safe until you get to know the person.

· Men and women now split the bill. Don’t commit the faux pas of expecting one person to pay for everything. Both parties should offer to pay their share and be prepared to do so. Be sure to have cash on hand in case plastic isn’t on the menu.

· Don’t air your “dirty laundry”. Problems with your ex or your adult children? Conflicts with families or former partners are a natural part of life, yet there’s no need to share the burden early on.

· Dating is about BOTH people. Dating is and always will be two-way, with plenty of listening and communication. You should work around both of your schedules and interests when arranging a date and deciding where to go. One person doesn’t get to call all the shots.

· Guard your personal information and your assets. Know that there are many people who are quick to take advantage of the loneliness of seniors. Be aware that not everyone you meet may be a person of substance, ethically and morally.

· Be safe. Tell a friend or someone else close to you, where and with whom you are going on your date. If you can’t reach anyone, call your own voicemail and leave a detailed message and any contact info you have about your date.

Falzone continued, “Something that hasn’t changed is courtesy. Courtesy transcends the generations. Confirm your date, be on time and conclude it comfortably. If you want to see each other again, great, but if not, that’s okay too. Go on your date with no expectations, and be sure to end it on a polite note. Most importantly – be yourself and be honest and sincere.”
