October 1, 2012 //  by admin

Richard Furtado

Action Bearing, the sister company of Emerson Bearing Boston, catering to OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers) and MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Operations) markets, has appointed Richard Furtado to oversee the company’s Oil Field and Pump Division. The division caters to Oil, Natural Gas, Water Energy and Pump clients around the globe.

Furtado, a resident of Boston and Action Bearing’s Senior Sales Expert, has been with the company for more than three decades. Furtado graduated from Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, GA with a degree in Business Management and over the years has received additional training and accreditation at Action Bearing Boston.

Furtado will assist clients in determining which bearing technologies would be most suitable by taking into consideration the specifications, recommendations, maintenance strategies, fatigue life and wear resistance of the bearing in relation to the application. Action Bearing Boston’s 24/7 service and inventory are critical to the operations of many clients in the Southwest, South America and Russia.

“Richard’s knowledge of the industries he serves is vast and he is truly an asset to the company. We’ve experienced significant growth in the pump and energy markets over the last couple of years. We cater to a growing number of clients in the Southwest, where pumps are used for hydraulic fracturing, or ‘fracking’, which breaks up the rock that is holding oil/gas,” noted Steve Katz, president of Action Bearing.
