Emerson Bearing Boston, a bearing company catering to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) and Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) markets around the world, is simplifying the bearing search process through their online computer-aided design (CAD) library, found at emersonbearing.com.

Emerson Bearing Boston has expanded the Technical Toolbox section of their website to include a CAD Library. The company now offers technical designers and application engineers access to IGUS and IKO CAD files for bearings and related parts used in a wide range of applications, from machine tools, robots and woodworking, to medical, packaging, semiconductors and automation.

The IGUS CAD library offers products ranging from energy chains to polymer ball bearings with convenient and editable standard-compliant representations for calculation. Specializing in the production of quality linear motion rolling guides, needle roller bearings and precision positioning tables, the IKO CAD library at emersonbearing.com offers both PART community and DXF style 2D and 3D CAD models, guides and tables.

“Application engineers have strong input in the buying process, as form, fit and function are critical to product success,” explained Steve Katz, president of Emerson Bearing. “At Emerson Bearing, we strive to provide accurate information to help in the decision-making process so that projects can move forward.”

Talking Information Center’s Boston Studio at MCB Now Open

February 22, 2017 //  by admin

Talking Information Center (TIC), the award-winning, nonprofit reading service based in Marshfield, MA, which broadcasts 24 hours a day to visually impaired and otherwise print impaired listeners throughout Massachusetts, recently announced the opening of a second studio in Boston.

TIC is proud to announce that their Boston studio, located at the Massachusetts Commission for the Blind (MCB), 600 Washington Street, Boston, is now in operation. The new location serves as a direct link to their Marshfield studio and provides a more convenient location for state officials and other guests who would otherwise have to commute to Marshfield.

“We are thrilled to be able to record interviews in our Boston studio as it better facilitates scheduling of our guests who are located in town,” noted James Bunnell, Executive Director of TIC. “Our Boston studio may be used to advocate for different agencies, as it enables MCB and others to reach the community.”

In addition to their Boston and Marshfield studios, TIC has affiliates in Mashpee, Pittsfield, Lowell, Springfield, and Worcester broadcasting their diverse programs 24-hours a day, seven days a week.

The Hub of the Massachusetts Reading Network

TIC is a proud member of the International Association of Audible Information Services (IAAIS), and is the hub of the Massachusetts Reading Network, broadcasting to all of Massachusetts as well as southern New Hampshire and Connecticut. TIC operates with the help of more than 600 volunteers statewide, broadcasting newspapers, magazines, books, special consumer information, medical and stock market updates, jobs, sports, supermarket specials, voting guides, community newspapers, and television programs. TIC also offers cultural programming such as old-time radio drama, theater, and poetry. Two of TIC’s newest shows include Veterans Voice Radio and Veterans Voice Story Hour, which are specifically geared toward military veterans and their families.

TIC programming may be accessed several ways: via live audio stream at http://www.ticnetwork.org; by utilizing a specially tuned radio receiver; through AudioNow by calling 712-832-7025 from a home or cell phone; or by smartphone app. Listeners with smartphones may download the free TIC app by typing “Talking Information Center” in Apple or in the Google Play store for Android devices.

In 1977, Ed Perry, the founder of radio station WATD-FM in Marshfield, MA, donated his Subsidiary Carrier Authorization signal for use as the first radio reading service in New England. Operating similarly to other broadcast networks, TIC has affiliates throughout the state of Massachusetts that provide inserts of local news and information that is of interest to listeners in their area. The Executive Office of Elder Affairs and the Massachusetts Commission for the Blind oversee TIC, which is located at 130 Enterprise Drive, Marshfield, MA 02050. Emerson Bearing Boston Helps Keep Fitness Equipment in Tip Top Shape

Emerson Bearing

May 31, 2016 //  by admin

emerson bearingWith millions of Americans exercising at fitness facilities and health clubs each year, it is imperative that gym equipment be kept in tip-top shape.

Emerson Bearing Boston has established a Recreation Division dedicated to providing health clubs, fitness facilities and exercise equipment maintenance repair companies with a comprehensive inventory of bearings and related parts for a wide range of equipment including exercise bikes, treadmills, elliptical trainers and more.

Marketing specialist, Joe Falvey, who has been with Emerson Bearing for more than three decades, leads the division. Falvey will assist clients in determining which bearing technologies would be most suitable by taking into consideration the specifications, recommendations, maintenance strategies, fatigue life and wear resistance of the bearing in relation to the application.

The equipment used in health clubs and fitness centers requires bearings and related parts that are high quality, long lasting and provide good price/performance ratio. Belts, linear motion bearings, radial ball bearings, needle bearings and chain are among the bearings and parts that Emerson Bearing supplies to fitness facilities and exercise equipment maintenance repair companies.

Emerson Bearing proudly serves exercise equipment maintenance repair professionals located throughout the U.S., including Fitness Brokers of Foxboro, MA, Fitness Technology of Salem, NH and Fitness Equipment & Repair based in Maryland.

Emerson Bearing recommends ongoing preventative maintenance to ensure optimal operation of fitness and exercise machines, while minimizing downtime and extending the life of the equipment.

“Regular inspections and maintenance of equipment hardware and moving parts should be performed on every machine as recommended by the manufacturer. Additionally, daily elimination of dirt and dust will reduce heat and friction, and help to prevent premature bearing failure,” said Steve Katz, president of Emerson Bearing.

He continued, “Fitness facilities and exercise equipment maintenance repair professionals know they can rely on us for our vast inventory, competitive pricing and overall reliability.”

To help QuickBooks users through the process, the Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor team at  Rodman CPAs, a full service tax and accounting firm catering to small and medium-sized companies throughout the greater Boston area, shares highlights from their recent “Preparing for Year-End” QuickBooks seminar.

During the 90-minute seminar held in their Waltham office classroom, Rodman’s QuickBooks ProAdvisors led attendees through a comprehensive year-end checklist. Six key steps of the reconciliation process are outlined below:

1. Cash – Reconcile final bank statements. Review old outstanding checks and deposits.

2. Accounts Receivable – Ensure all 12/31/15 invoices are entered. Review outstanding receivables for uncollectible accounts and write offs. Review negative accounts receivable. Review over 90 days to determine if additional collection efforts are needed. Review undeposited funds to ensure transactions are current.

3. Accounts Payable – Ensure all 12/31/15 vendor bills are posted. Review accounts payable aging for negative or old accounts payable.

4. Credit Cards – Ensure all credit card activity is entered through 12/31/15 for both cash and accrual basis taxpayers. Reconcile credit card activity.

5. 1099s – Review 1099 vendor information to make sure it is complete. Review name, address, tax ID, 1099 coding in QuickBooks. Review QuickBooks mapping of expense accounts for 1099 tracking. Ensure W-9s are on file for all vendors.

6. Loans/Other Liability accounts – Reconcile loans to year-end statements/amortization schedules. Ensure principal and interest expense are properly recorded. Ensure other liability accounts are reviewed and reconciled to backup.

“These are just a few of the steps in the final reporting and closing process that must be completed to ensure everything is in order prior to tax filing,” explained Kathy Parker CPA, partner and Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor.
