BRIDGEWATER, MA and MARSHFIELD, MA…

Remote Quality Bookkeeping makes its living by providing on-site bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, payroll and tax preparation services. The company recently formed an alliance with a like-minded company, HR-Onsite. HR-Onsite is a human resource consulting firm that similarly provides on-location HR services for its clients.

“Human resources goes hand-in-hand with the services we offer, so this partnership with HR-Onsite makes all the sense in the world,” said Mark Kilduff, president of Remote Quality Bookkeeping, based in Bridgewater, MA and serving clients throughout the United States. “With HR-Onsite on board, our clients and their clients essentially have available to them a corporate-level HR/Accounting department at a fraction of the cost of hiring a staff.”

HR On-site is owned by Donna McGinn, a human resource consultant based in Marshfield, Massachusetts. HR On-site provides assistance with all facets of human resources, employee recruitment, employee handbook development, employee termination, sexual harassment policy compliance, and more.

“The new sick leave law forced many small business owners to look at their overall human resource policies. Many realized that the HR component required more time and expertise than they had available,” said McGinn. “We give these companies more than HR services, but an HR presence without the cost of hiring a full-time staff. So, it’s a win for the company and employees.”

Adds McGinn, “The partnership with Remote Bookkeeping is another win. Essentially, we are to HR what Mark and his team are to bookkeeping.”

For more information on HR On-site, call Donna McGinn at 781-718-4778.

In addition to its wide range of bookkeeping services, Remote Quality Bookkeeping takes a consultative approach with its clients. Often that includes remote sessions to walk clients through reports and to translate the numbers into easy to understand pieces.

Remote Quality Bookkeeping hosts data on secure servers providing clients with a safe haven accessible from anywhere at any time. This allows accessibility and peace of mind so business owners can focus on their business.

Remote Quality Bookkeeping clients can outsource just a few bookkeeping tasks or the whole accounting and bookkeeping department. Remote Quality Bookkeeping’s team approach ensures that the books are accurate and up-to-date all for one low monthly fee.

Remote Quality Bookkeeping is located at 12 Spring Terrace, Bridgewater, MA 02324. For more information, call (508) 889-0201 or visit www.myrqb.com.

HANOVER, MA and QATAR…

Lapels Dry Cleaning, an innovative, environmentally friendly dry cleaning company headquartered in Hanover, Massachusetts, announced agreement with the Bani Hashim Trading Company to open 10 dry cleaning stores and one dry cleaning plant in Qatar. The initial dry cleaning plant will open in early 2016.

As part of the agreement, the Bani Hashim Trading Company will act as Lapels Dry Cleaning’s Master Franchisor in Qatar and will look to sell franchisee licenses in the country.

“We’ve long wanted to bring the Lapels Dry Cleaning to the world stage and the opportunity in Qatar was a very good fit,” said Kevin Dubois, CEO of Lapels Dry Cleaning and author of Entrepreneurial Insanity in the Dry Cleaning Business. “Bani Hashim has an impeccable reputation in the franchise industry in Qatar and we could not ask for a better partner in bringing the Lapels brand overseas.”

The Bani Hashim Trading Company is a franchisor of Real Madrid Official Stores in Qatar and will open its first location on the Pearl Qatar at the end of 2015. The company is also the licensee in Qatar for So Jennie, a luxury, non-alcoholic champagne sold in first- and business-Class flights and lounge of Qatar Airways, as well as in many 4- and 5-star hotels in Qatar.  Bani Hashim is also planning to open and franchise So Jennie Cafes to promote the beverage. The first café is scheduled to open in early 2016.

“We found the Lapels franchise model to be very much in line with our approach to franchising our other enterprises,” said Shari Chaitram, retail division manager of the Bani Hashim Trading Company. “People in Qatar, especially executives, are particular about their clothes. We foresee the Lapels approach to dry cleaning and service to be very popular with this demographic.”

Lapels has pioneered its eco-friendly dry cleaning experience over the past dozen years. Part of that effort includes a partnership agreement with GreenEarth®, the dry cleaning industry’s only non-toxic cleaning alternative for its newer locations. Using these kinds of solutions and the latest technology in equipment, Lapels is one of the few dry cleaners able to boast that there is no hazardous waste in their process. Their environmentally-friendly cleaning process has no odor and is gentler on clothes, thus lengthening the life of clothes.

Lapels Dry Cleaning also sets itself apart with its customer service. Lapels customers are greeted to a warm and inviting reception area, with friendly customer service representatives, and alteration services.

Lapels offers it’s customers Automatic Rewards earning them credit towards free dry cleaning for every dollar they spend, Loyalty Programs, a VIP Program which eliminates the need to wait in line, the use of a 24 Hour Drop Off Service and FREE Home Delivery to all its customers. Same day service is also available with pick-up after 5 pm.

ABINGTON,MA, ALLSTON,MA, BEDFORD, MA, BOSTON, MA, CAMBRIDGE, MA, COHASSET, MA,  DEDHAM, MA, EASTON, MA, FRAMINGHAM, MA, FRANKLIN, MA, HANOVER, MA, HINGHAM, MA, MARSHFIELD, MA, NATICK, MA, NEEDHAM, MA, NEWTONVILLE, MA, NORTON, MA, QUINCY, MA,  WALPOLE, MA, WESTFORD, MA, WESTWOOD, MA and WILMINGTON, MA…

Each year, Lapels Dry Cleaning stores across the country host clothing drives to benefit Big Brother/Big Sister organizations.  With seven states participating in this year’s drive, held May 2 to May 17, customers donated 8875 pounds of clothes at Massachusetts stores (Lapels Dry Cleaning of Cohasset customers donated the most at 1725 pounds);  11565 overall. That has a value of $11,565 or a $1 per pound.

As impressive as the weight of the clothes might be, what it represents to Big Brothers Big Sisters organizations is the real value of the drive. The clothes donated will be resold at various thrift shops and other second hand clothing stores, helping to fund Big Brothers Big Sisters programs in Arizona, Connecticut, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Missouri, New Jersey and Rhode Island.

“This annual event has benefitted hundreds of people involved in the Big Brother/Big Sister organization across the country,” said Steven Beck, executive director Big Brother Big Sister Foundation. “We can’t thank Lapels Dry Cleaning enough for putting this annual drive together and to their customers for their generous donations.”

By state, Lapels Dry Cleaning customers donated:

  • Massachusetts – 8857
  • Arizona – 437
  • Connecticut – 438
  • Missouri – 50
  • New Jersey – 1098
  • Rhode Island – 340
  • Louisiana – 345

“The simplest way to put it is our customers care. They care that their clothes are cleaned in an environmentally friendlier way and they care about their fellow citizens in the community,” said Kevin Dubois, CEO of Lapels Dry Cleaning, an environmentally friendly dry cleaner with more than 70 locations nationwide. “What’s really impressive about our customers’ generosity is that these donations take place over a two-week period. That’s a lot of clothes in a very short period.”

Lapels has pioneered its eco-friendly dry cleaning experience for the past 12 years. Using the latest technology in equipment and cleaning solution, Lapels is one of the few dry cleaners in the U.S. able to boast that there is no hazardous waste in their process. Their environmentally-friendly cleaning process has no odor and is gentler on clothes, thus lengthening the life of clothes. At Lapels you can see, feel and smell the difference.

Incubator Plan and Fast Casual franchise Between Rounds Café offer Fresh Start

June 17, 2015 //  by admin

location imageFast casual dining is the fastest growing segment in the restaurant industry. Looking to get in on the ground floor? Between Rounds Bakery Sandwich Café, a unique fast casual bakery café and bagel shop with locations throughout Connecticut, has rolled out an “Incubator Plan”, a low-entry Kiosk franchise option with a reduced franchise fee.

How it Works

With Between Rounds’ Incubator Plan, the franchise fee for a Between Rounds Kiosk store has been reduced from $20K to $5K. The franchise fee covers hard costs such as legal work, store design and menu board design.

Between Rounds’ Kiosk business model is unique in that it enables convenience and gas station store owners/operators (including third party owners who pay rent) to increase profits from their existing locations by offering Between Rounds fresh baked bagels and baked goods as well as breakfast and lunch sandwiches, wraps, salads, soups and specialty coffees. Ultimately, store traffic increases and leads to additional sales from products that are already sold. Patrons will enjoy Between Rounds’ neighborhood feel, their modern, comfortable interior and delicious food. Plus all locations offer free Wi-Fi for customers.

The overall investment for a Between Rounds Kiosk is approximately $120K. Financing for Kiosk operations is available through third parties.

Between Rounds franchised their first Kiosk store model in Tolland in 2013. That successful franchise, owned and operated by Sami Kahn, is located at 206 Merrow Road, at the Citgo Express Gas Station.  According to Kahn, “I had looked into a number of coffee and fast food opportunities and was very impressed with Between Rounds from the start.  The products are very high quality and very fresh because they are made every day.  That is my main motivation – to provide the best product possible to customers.”

For more information about the Between Rounds Bakery Sandwich Café opportunities, visit http://franchise.betweenroundsbagels.com.

For its commitment to green practices and more efficient operations, Lapels Dry Cleaning has earned its signature line as ‘the future of dry cleaning’. With its latest series of technology and operational improvements, however, Lapels Dry Cleaning has demonstrated the future is now.

“I grew up in the restaurant and hospitality business where you have to continually improve workflow and efficiency in order to stay ahead of increasing costs. I brought that same mentality to the dry cleaning industry,” said Kevin Dubois, CEO of Lapels Dry Cleaning and co-author of Entrepreneurial Insanity in the Dry Cleaning Business. “For decades this industry saw little to no change in technology – and now what is happening is so exciting.”

Made exclusively for Lapels Dry Cleaning franchise owners, the new dry cleaning machine combines the world’s only non-hazardous cleaning solution with the most efficient run time in the industry.  Unlike most other dry cleaning processes, the new machine heats the solvent, which reduces dry times. The new dry cleaning machine also features an onboard computer to provide maximum efficiency in programming and operation.

“The combination of new equipment, improved programming through trial and error and heating the dry cleaning solvent has resulted in a 53-minute dry time, a reduction in more than 20 percent from where we were,” said Dubois. “That improvement translates into a faster turnaround time, which improves the customer experience and increases retention.”

Adds Dubois, “The beauty of these improvements is how much it benefits our franchise owners as well. With a more efficient dry time, they can clean more clothes, making them more profitable.”

In addition to operational improvements, Lapels has introduced technology to improve the customer experience as well. In 2014, Lapels made a smart phone app available to its customers. The app enables customers to schedule deliveries and pickups, notify the store that they are on their way in and view their receipts as well as a number of other functions.

“A huge part of being greener is to use less energy—electricity, gas for your vehicle,” said Dubois. “The technology improvements we have made make it faster for clothes to be cleaned and make it more efficient for customers to receive their clothes. And that’s a scenario where we all win.”
