Gardiner’s Market Teams Up with Between Rounds to Offer Signature Product Line

July 2, 2014 //  by admin

Tom Gardiner

Two family businesses have teamed up and created a “recipe for success” in South Glastonbury.

Recognizing the high quality of Between Rounds Bakery Sandwich Café’s baked-fresh-daily bagels, Gardiner’s Market struck a deal with Between Rounds to carry their renowned signature bagels in the Bakery section.

Tom Gardiner, third generation of Gardiner’s, who took the helm in 1983 with his wife Amy, explained, “Between Rounds is local and very well known. Their products are high quality, consistent and absolutely delicious. Our customers are happy because they know exactly what they are getting with the Between Rounds brand.”

The family-owned Between Rounds has been in business for more than two decades and is the brainchild of brothers Jerry and Joe Puiia, who are Staten Island, NY natives.  Between Rounds current locations include South Windsor (corporate headquarters), Vernon, Manchester and Tolland.

“Our goal is similar to Gardiner’s in that we both strive to make available the freshest, most delicious products possible.  We’re delighted to work with Tom and Amy and honored to have Gardiner’s Market carry our bagels. It makes it easier for anyone who does not live near one of our cafés to obtain our superior products right from their local market,” said Jerry Puiia, co-owner of Between Rounds.

Gardiner’s Market carries all flavors of Between Rounds bagels and is looking to offer additional Between Rounds baked goods as space allows.

“We strive to bring in local items from neighbors who work and live in the area. At the suggestion of one of our long-time staff members, we sampled Between Rounds bagels in consideration of bringing in their product line and we were really impressed. They are a big seller,” explained Gardiner.

Family-made history

Gardiner’s Market is family-owned and operated store.  The company founder, Elmer Gardiner opened the store in 1950. After 20 successful years, he and his son, Leon Gardiner, relocated and built a larger store at the current Main Street location in South Glastonbury in 1970. The “torch” was then passed along to Tom and Amy Gardiner, who run the store, while Tom’s sister, Lynn, is the store’s bookkeeper.  All five Gardiner children work in the store, bringing the total number of employees to 49. Many of the store’s staff members have been with the company for decades. Gardiner’s Market is located at 868 Main Street, South Glastonbury. For more information, visit www.gardinersmarket.net.

SelecTech launches National Account Program for its ESD products

June 9, 2014 //  by admin

Thomas Ricciardelli
Thomas Ricciardelli of SelecTech, Inc.

AVON, MA…

SelecTech, Inc., a leader in the manufacture of innovative flooring products from recycled materials, recently announced the creation of a National Account Program (NAP) for its ESD flooring products. The new program will be tailored towards chains, franchises and larger, multi-location businesses.

“Many things have to be in play for a NAP like this. First, you have to have first-rate product that’s desirable to multi-location businesses. Second, you need to have sales and support staff to serve those locations. Our ESD products and our national network of technicians and sales reps, give our NAP the legs to succeed on many levels,” said Thomas Ricciardelli, president of SelecTech, Inc.

SelecTech offers unique static control flooring products offered exclusively by Static Stop, including Freestyle ESD. These products are adhesive-free and employ a patented interlocking technology that dramatically reduces installation time and make it easier to replace flooring without significant or, in some cases, any downtime. For multi-location businesses, tiles can be customized in a central location (e.g. adding logos and other branding messages) and then installed by local technicians.

Beyond easy installation, StaticStop products are 100 percent recyclable. When installed, these ESD flooring materials create a static-controlled environment that’s perfect for businesses, retail outlets, and other facilities utilizing sensitive electronics and preserving valuable data. Electronics manufacturing, communications, aerospace, biotech and healthcare industries are just some of the industries that utilize ESD flooring.

The SelecTech NAP for ESD products will be served by a network of sales representative and flooring technicians across the United States. In addition to installations, SelecTech’s network of technicians can provide 24/7 service.

“Where most national account programs can fail is not having the service people readily available to serve accounts. We have professionals in every market we serve. If there’s a problem, we don’t have to fly anybody in. We have people right there in that area code to service accounts,” said Ricciardelli.

Added Jeffrey Lampert, vice president of business development at Static Stop.com, “We are very enthusiastic and optimistic regarding the launch of our new ESD National Account Program. We look forward to offering this procurement gateway to our customer base and future prospects throughout the United States. Our strong market position as one of the preeminent ESD manufacturers has helped us to solidify to our customers that choosing us is the right choice.”

For more information on SelecTech’s National Account Program or to request a copy of SelecTech, Inc.’s ESD binder, please call 508-583-3200 or visit www.selectechinc.com.

About SelecTech, Inc.

The unique interlock system on SelecTech’s flooring products enable them to be installed at a much lower cost, without a lot of costly downtime, which provides significant value to customers.

Using state-of-the-art technology and innovative product design, SelecTech created the top performing Place N’ Go residential flooring products, which are available at Home Depot. HANOVER, MA…

When a clothing drive nets four tons of clothes, it’s difficult to expect more the following year—unless you happen to be talking about Lapels Dry Cleaning customers.  With three additional states worth of Lapels Dry Cleaning stores participating this year, Lapels Dry Cleaning clothing drive to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters generated 9480 pounds of clothes from customers in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Louisiana, Arizona, Missouri and New Jersey.

As impressive as the weight of the clothes might be, what it represents to Big Brothers Big Sisters organizations in those states is the real value of the drive. The clothes donated will be resold at various thrift shops and other second hand clothing stores, helping to fund Big Brothers Big Sisters programs.

“Our customers are the best. I say it all the time, but once a year during our drive for Big Brother Big Sister, Lapels Dry Cleaning customers prove it and then some,” said Kevin Dubois, CEO of Lapels Dry Cleaning, an environmentally friendly dry cleaner with more than 50 locations nationwide. “What’s really staggering about these donations is that the drive took place over two weeks, April 5 to April 19. That’s a lot of clothes in a very short period.”

By state, Lapels Dry Cleaning customers donated:

  • Massachusetts 6118
  • Arizona 420
  • Connecticut 345
  • Missouri 276
  • New Jersey 971
  • Rhode Island 600
  • Louisiana 750

“What was very encouraging was the level of participation in Louisiana, Connecticut and Missouri. This is the first year we have had stores from these states participate and their customers stepped right up,” added Dubois.

More than 30 Lapels Dry Cleaning stores participated.

“The partnership between Lapels Dry Cleaning stores and Big Brother Big Sister has been one of the true pleasures of my job,” said Steven Beck, executive director Big Brother Big Sister Foundation. “Lapels Dry Cleaning is a first-class organization and that’s reflected by their customers. We thank each and every one of them for their generous donations.”

Lapels has pioneered its eco-friendly dry cleaning experience for the past 12 years. Using the latest technology in equipment and cleaning solution, Lapels is one of the few dry cleaners in the U.S. able to boast that there is no hazardous waste in their process. Lapels Dry Cleaning suits veterans just fine; dry cleans donated suits for Paralyzed Veterans of America

Lapels Dry Cleaning of Oklahoma City partners cleans donated suits for free to give to veterans via Paralyzed Veterans of America.

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK and HANOVER, MA…

How does any fundraiser begin? For Lapels Dry Cleaning, an innovative, environmentally friendly dry cleaning company headquartered in Hanover, Massachusetts, it started when one of its customers, Channel 9 weatherman Jed Castles, wanted to donate his used suits to veterans. Enter Brian Culver, a US Navy veteran and owner of Lapels Dry Cleaning of OKC. Culver offered to dry clean, press and deliver the suits to Paralyzed Veterans of America for distribution to veterans.

“As someone who did it, I can tell you there are a lot of challenges that go with leaving the military and trying to enter the private sector job force. For some veterans, not having a proper suit for that big interview can be one of them,” said Culver, who served as a helicopter pilot in the Navy from 2002 to 2012. “With Jed’s help, we now have a program in place where we will clean used suits that are in good condition and, through the Paralyzed Veterans of America, make sure they get to job-seeking veterans.”

Lapels Dry Cleaning is located at 13801 North Bryant Avenue in OKC. Those interested in donating a men’s or women’s suit can stop by during regular store hours, Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 7 pm; Saturday 8 am to 5 pm; and Sunday, 12 pm to 3 pm.

“Giving back to the community is one of the staples of the Lapels Dry Cleaning organization. Presently, we’re in the middle of our clothing drive for Big Brother Big Sister organizations in six states,” said Kevin Dubois, CEO of Lapels Dry Cleaning. “We commend Brian for taking the initiative to start the suits for veterans drive in OKC. Pardon the pun, but we hope our other locations will follow suit in giving back to our veterans.”

Lapels has pioneered its eco-friendly dry cleaning experience for the past 12 years.  Using the latest technology in equipment and cleaning solution, Lapels is one of the few dry cleaners in the greater OKC area able to boast that there is no hazardous waste in their process. Their environmentally-friendly cleaning process has no odor and is gentler on clothes, thus lengthening the life of clothes. At Lapels you can see, feel and smell the difference.

Beyond the environmentally friendly cleaning process is Lapels Dry Cleaning’s customer service. Lapels customers are greeted to a warm and inviting reception area, with friendly customer service representatives, and alteration services.
