Valentine’s Day is around the corner. eLove Matchmaker explains true meaning of Romance

January 30, 2012 //  by admin

Paul A. Falzone, CEO of eLove Matchmaking

The first Valentine greeting was sent by a priest known as Valentine in third century Rome to his jailor’s daughter, whom he fell in love with while in prison. How could such an endearing message of love evolve into the parade of elaborate gifts and hype of today?

Paul A. Falzone, CEO of eLove Matchmaking, one of the largest professional introduction companies in the world, explains, “A candlelit dinner and a dozen roses is a sweet gesture, but everybody does it. Dining out has become commonplace. The true meaning of romance lies in originality. Your ‘message of love’ has to be personal and really mean something to the recipient.”

Falzone gives examples of a few romantic gestures that may give you some of your own creative ideas:

Say it with flowers – all year long. You know your sweetheart loves white hydrangeas no matter what the season. Arrange a monthly delivery of her favorite flower for a full year with your florist, with the first delivery beginning on Valentine’s Day. Not telling her that she’ll receive a beautiful arrangement every month is part of the romantic surprise.

Say “you’re special to me” by knowing what s/he likes the most. Maybe she loves live theater, but always seems to miss out on shows because she waits until the last minute to get tickets. Get her season tickets and then escort her.

Support his/her dreams. Perhaps he mentioned that mountain climbing was something he always dreamed about doing. You don’t need to climb the mountain with him, but you might give him a piece of equipment he’ll need to do it or a membership to a climbing club. Supporting his dreams is romantic.

Revisit a special place. On your third date, you went on a picnic on a hill overlooking the town and watched the sunset. That’s the day when you both knew you were serious about each other. You may not be able to recreate the entire scene, but it’s romantic to do it again in honor of that special day.

“Giving jewelry or other big ticket gifts on Valentine’s Day seems to be the norm, but romance is a little more than that. It’s easy to go a store and buy a gift. It’s more about knowing your sweetheart and making a very personal gesture. It’s going out of your way to let them know they are special to you,” said Falzone.

First Marriage of the Year – January 1, 2012, thanks to eLove

January 10, 2012 //  by admin

She knew it was love when they shared desserts of cheesecake and apple crisp on their first date at the Piccadilly Pub in Foxboro.

Soon thereafter, Kathy Jones, 51, a Quincy resident and Edward P. Mathers, 58, an Attleboro resident, became perhaps the first newlyweds of the New Year when they tied the knot on January 1, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Hingham. More than 100 were in attendance.

The wedding, the second for both the bride and the groom, was a family affair and included the daughter of the bride, Kimberly P. Jones as the maid of honor and Kathy’s brother William Long walked her walked her down aisle.

Other participating family including grandson Gabriel Jones, 4, who served as the ring bearer; niece Brianne Killcommons, 5, as flower girl; niece Mary Lou Long assisted with a reading and son Mathew Jones served as an usher. Best man was Ron Stokes, a long-time friend of the groom.

The bride wore a bright red gown which she noted represents “a second chance at love.”

The couple met through eLove, the nation’s largest office-based dating service. Kathy commented, “The dating service was wonderful. They were very responsive and offered great tips and advice to make me more comfortable on my dates. Bless them. I would have never met Edward without their help.”

Kathy continued, “They really matched us well. We have so much in common including a love for outdoor sports – kayaking and biking. We even went on our first camping trip with my family in July. Sometimes we just stay in and get cozy watching movies. Just spending time together is a pleasure.”

Kathy added, “We are very open about meeting through a dating service. In fact, the massage therapist who I saw prior to the wedding ceremony was also married off by eLove. And Ed’s tuxedo rental clerk also met his wife through eLove. We took these as very good signs.”

The newly minted New Year’s couple planned to honeymoon in Portsmouth and North Conway, NH prior to settling in Attleboro.

eLove Matchmaking Launches Valentine’s Day Contest

January 9, 2012 //  by admin

Whether it was your first date or your thirty-first date – if you have a great, offbeat date story, eLove Matchmaking wants to hear about it.

eLove Matchmaking is holding a Valentine’s Day contest for the “Best Offbeat Date” story. From now until February 13th, submit your “Best, Offbeat Date” story for a chance to win a $50 Darden Restaurant Gift Card.

“We’ve all experienced that quirky date, where plans get mixed up, Mother Nature interferes or the date takes an amusing, unusual twist. The funny thing is that an offbeat date can turn out to be a positive experience and oftentimes the beginning of a beautiful relationship,” said Paul A. Falzone, CEO of eLove, one of the largest professional introduction companies in the world.

Perhaps your romantic dinner at a swanky restaurant turned into a giddy farce when you were provided with only bread sticks and wine due to a power outage from severe weather. Or, the time your date dinged another couple’s car while parallel parking and you ended up on a double date with the other couple, springing for dinner as restitution. eLove Matchmaking will share the submitted stories online at elovemagazine.com.

On Valentine’s Day, three winning “Best, Offbeat Date” stories will be announced. Winners will receive a $50 Darden Gift Card to be used at any one of the following six restaurants: Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Longhorn Steak House, The Capital Grille, Bahama Breeze or Seasons 52.

Email your “Best Offbeat Date” story to eLove Matchmaking at pr@elove.com .

Know a Great Single Dad? Nominate Him as eLove’s “America’s Favorite Single Dad”

June 2, 2011 //  by admin

Know a great single dad who hasn’t yet met that special someone, but would like to? eLove encourages you to nominate him as “America’s Favorite Single Dad”.

eLove, the fastest growing matchmaking firm in the country with over 50 matchmaking offices nationwide and home offices in Norwell, MA and Los Angeles, CA, is holding the “America’s Favorite Single Dad” contest to recognize and reward a hardworking, stand-up single dad, who just can’t seem to catch a break when it comes to meeting that special gal.

“There are a lot of attractive, funny, nice guys who really have trouble putting themselves out there and meeting someone. They’re not considered ‘bad boys’ or ‘players’, but are truly great guys. ‘America’s Favorite Single Dad’ is an unsung hero – that single father who slogs it out at work and then comes home and cares for his child(ren), who doesn’t get much time to date,” explained Julie Ferman, nationally renowned matchmaker who runs eLove’s offices in the L.A. area.

Three winners will be selected among all entrants, but only one will be named “America’s Favorite Single Dad” and receive a free full membership to eLove. The second place winner will receive an iPad and third place winner will receive an iPhone.

“Our mission is to provide singles with that all-important initial connection with the right people and simplify the love search process for the relationship-minded,” noted Paul A. Falzone, CEO of eLove. “We sit down with our clients; get to know them better – their goals, dreams and expectations – and help them make successful connections.”

“America’s Favorite Single Dad” nominations can be made by a third party or men may actually nominate themselves. Nominees must be at least 18 years of age and single.

Tell us about that great single dad you know. Nominate “America’s Favorite Single Dad” by sending an email to FathersDay@elove.com.

eLove’s Paul A. Falzone weighs in on Emotional Affairs

May 19, 2011 //  by admin

Matters of the heart –

An emotional affair, which often masquerades as a friendship, can happen whether you’re single, married or in a committed relationship.

Paul A. Falzone, CEO of eLove, one of the world’s largest matchmaking services, shares his insight about what constitutes emotional fidelity and the telltale signs of an emotional affair of someone who is in a committed relationship.

According to Falzone, “The best way to explain emotional fidelity is to explain what constitutes emotional infidelity. Technically, this is when you choose not to or you’re unable to share your emotions, thoughts and feelings with your significant other, yet you share them with someone else of the opposite sex. Although you’re not having a physical affair, you are being emotionally intimate with someone other than your partner.”

Emotional infidelity is not simple flirting. But, it can begin with flirting, as that is how many relationships develop. That casual banter with a co-worker may turn in to flirting and something more serious and emotionally involved as time goes on.

To be emotionally faithful is to not betray your partner. You know your partner better than anyone else; what his or her needs are and how he or she feels about everything. If you’re sharing special thoughts, feelings, ambitions or dreams with someone other than him or her, then you are knowingly being emotionally unfaithful and trust has been broken.

Here are a few examples of emotional fidelity that will help keep you in check:

You receive good (or bad) news, whether it relates to work, health, finances, friends or family and you’re excited to share it with your significant other (as opposed to someone else of the opposite sex).

You have a problem with your partner and you want to discuss it with your partner (and not someone else of the opposite sex).

You have a new idea or dream or you’re considering making a change in your life and the only person you discuss it with is the one whose got your back – your partner.

“To be cognizant of what is an isn’t emotional fidelity is half the battle. If you feel you can talk with, or that you are closer to, that ‘friend’ than you are to your significant other, then that’s a sure sign that your relationship needs attention,” noted Falzone.

Traditional Dating Service, eLove Matchmaking, Shines in Background Checks & Profile Authentication

April 22, 2011 //  by admin

Recently, Match.com announced they are going to start screening new members against the national sex offender registry in response to a lawsuit brought by a woman who says she was attacked by a man who had been charged with sex crimes.

Paul A. Falzone, CEO of eLove Matchmaking, one of the world’s largest matchmaking services weighs in, “Most people who elect to use online dating services do understand that there is inherent risk to it. Screening new members against the national sex offender registry may give a false sense of security.”

He continued, “Profile authentication is a challenge for internet dating sites as there is no way to confirm that a person is who he/she claims to be and that they do not have a criminal record. Positive identification and full criminal background checks – as opposed to the one element of a simple screening against the national sex offender registry – are most effectively utilized by traditional ‘brick and mortar’ dating services such as eLove Matchmaking where our matchmakers meet every new member in person. The human element is necessary for member authentication.”

eLove Matchmaking is the fastest growing matchmaking firm in the country with over 50 matchmaking offices nationwide and home offices in Norwell, MA and Los Angeles, CA. eLove Matchmaking goes beyond simple screening for sex offenders. The company has been conducting mandatory criminal background checks for over a decade and, because they meet each and every member, require positive identification and get to know their members, they are better able to authenticate member profiles. Those who don’t pass the checks aren’t granted membership.

Falzone continued, “Conducting screenings of new members against the national sex offender registry could actually create a false sense of security for online dating site members as a criminal may easily use a false name or identity to circumvent the system. Technically, the information on the sexual offender registry is public and anyone can visit the sex offender registry website in any state and cross reference it themselves.

Sex offenders are only part of the criminal population. To weed out assault and battery offenders, thieves and others, a criminal background check is necessary.”

eLove Matchmaking’s professional matchmakers meet one-on-one with every potential member and conduct a thorough background check, which includes screening against the national sexual offender registry as well as screening to determine if they have committed other crimes or are claiming to be single when they are indeed married. They also require positive I.D.

“It’s important to note that no system is 100 percent foolproof, mainly because there are sex offenders and other criminals out there who haven’t been caught and therefore don’t have a record. Even with systems in place, there is still a risk and people should take safety precautions. That being said, traditional matchmaking services such as eLove Matchmaking, offer the highest level of profile authentication available,” noted Falzone.

Benefits of eLove Matchmaking

eLove Matchmaking was developed and designed by industry professionals with decades of combined experience in making happy successful couples. With 52 matchmaking offices in 23 states, eLove is everything that singles have been wishing for when seeking a serious, committed relationship.

Additional benefits of eLove Matchmaking include:

Private Profile – Not everyone is comfortable with putting their photo online and revealing their intimate details on the internet for the world to see. Through eLove Matchmaking, member profiles are not made public to the Internet. Privacy is of the utmost importance and enforced with a confidentiality agreement.

Safety – All eLove Matchmaking members are pre-screened and must undergo a mandatory criminal background and I.D. check. eLove Matchmaking reserves the right to terminate a membership for behavior unbecoming of a lady or a gentleman.

Personalization – eLove matchmakers get to know their members. Member information is not simply run through a computer system and matched up by demographic data, but through a combination of science, intuition, experience and insight. A matchmaker selects matches that offer the maximum chance of success. No matter how good a technology is, quality matchmaking is and always will be a subjective matter.

eLove’s Matchmaking Service offices are located in: Arkansas (Bentonville, Fort Smith, Little Rock); California (Los Angeles, Palo Alto, Sacramento, Walnut Creek, San Diego, Santa Rosa, Westlake); Connecticut (Glastonbury, Stamford); Illinois (Chicago, Downers Grove, Normal, Schaumburg, Rockford); Indiana (Carmel, Ft. Ensure Cupid Hits the Mark this Valentine’s Day – Tips from eLove’s Paul Falzone

February 7, 2011 //  by admin

Paul A. Falzone, matchmaking expert and CEO of eLove, the fastest growing matchmaking firm in the country with over 50 matchmaking offices nationwide and home offices in Norwell, MA and Los Angeles, CA, shares tips with men on what women generally want.

Whether you’ve been dating for weeks, years or you’ve already tied the knot, Falzone offers men insight into what women want in general, to help ensure Cupid hits the mark this Valentine’s Day or any other day.

Here are Falzone’s tips on what women want:

A man who listens.

A man who comes to the rescue. You’re an everyday hero if you can stop her dishwasher from leaking, fix her email problems or get rid of that big spider in the house.

A man who can ‘fry the bacon up in the pan’. Even the most talented female cooks don’t enjoy making meals all the time. If you can cook – do so. If you can’t, dine out.

A man who tells her what he thinks or how he feels. If you think she looks beautiful, makes you laugh, impresses you or you really enjoy being with her – tell her.

A man who is willing to share responsibility. Whether it’s the responsibility of taking care of a home or children, or of nurturing your relationship with each other.

“These are some general tips for men to consider to ensure Cupid hits the mark on Valentine’s Day or any other day for that matter. Be her Valentine all year long. All the ‘little things’ really do add up because she DOES notice them. Yes, your sweetheart will love receiving two dozen long stemmed red roses for Valentine’s Day, but you know what? She’ll also appreciate your other efforts. These are a few ways you can show her you care about her,” explained Falzone.

eLove’s Paul Falzone shares Valentine’s Day Tips in New England Fine Living

February 3, 2011 //  by admin

“While Valentine’s Day is supposed to be a day for lovers, it can be a source of frustration for many couples. For women, it can be especially frustrating because their significant other doesn’t put much thought into the day or, worse, labors through Valentine’s Day plans as if it’s another chore on the dreaded “honey-do” list. That’s why many women have adopted a “take charge” approach to Valentine’s Day to recapture the spirit of the day…”
