Don’t do it. Spare me the holiday e-cards.

Warning.  Don’t send holiday e-cards.

E-cards scream “I almost care”.  E-cards involve little effort, little cost, little personal sentiment.

Holiday cards are more likely to burn than build a bridge.  Keeping in touch is a wonderful thing, doing so en mass and with a generic message is somewhat insulting.

If you want to wish me Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy New Year or any other holiday…

  • Send me a real, honest to goodness snail mail card.
  • Call me to catch up.
  • Drop by and visit.
  • Take me to lunch.
  • Join me for coffee.
  • Invite me to a holiday gathering.
  • Buy me a  little gift.

Love him or hate him, Belichick is a icon for an era. Which got me to thinking, what if…

  • Bill Belichick were the president. He would have congressman playing both sides of the aisle.
  • Bill Belichick was the head of the MBTA. Not only would there be NO delays, there would be a “hurry up” schedule.
  • Bill Belichick ran Fashion Week. Ripped hoodies would have many new looks.  Think sparkles, faux animal pelts, day-glo.
  • Bill Belichick was your psychologist. He’d suggest that you Cowboy Up and get out there.
  • Bill Belichick was your mentor. He’d strongly recommend that you never take the nickname Little Bill.
  • Bill Belichick was your mechanic. Never replace your car, just keep rotating the tires.
  • Bill Belichick was your career counselor. Get the edge on your employer.  Film them when they least expect it.
  • Bill Belichick was your marketing advisor. He would speak in a monotone and let the scoreboard speak for itself.

The Power of Email Marketing to be outlined at South Shore Ad Club April 12 event at Asian C in Hingham

Business execs know that they need to do something to keep in touch with customers and prospects. But what?

“The Power of Email Marketing” will be outlined at the South Shore Ad Club event scheduled for Tuesday, April 12 at Asian C, 48 Whiting Street, (Route 53), Hingham.

The evening includes a cocktail and networking session beginning at 6 p.m., dinner at 7:00 p.m., and then the presentation on Email Marketing. The entire business community is urged to attend. Membership in the South Shore Ad Club is NOT required. Reservations are required. Registration Fee is $30 per person and includes buffet dinner. South Shore Ad Club members receive $10.00 off.
Corissa St. Laurent Regional Development Director of Constant Contact will discuss email marketing best practices, including social media integration, and some of the new features of Constant Contact.

“Email marketing is among least costly and highest impact methods of educating, prodding and cross-selling to your core audience,” noted Steve Dubin, President of the South Shore Ad Club and founder of PR Works based in Kingston, Mass. He added, “Given the amount of noise in the email arena – from Viagra to news alerts – email marketing has to be innovative, concise and seductive. This presentation will provide some of the best practices approaches to breaking through the clutter.”
