“What’s in your Grandma’s Jewelry Box?” Free Needham-based workshop outlines the value of bling.

May 3, 2019 //  by admin

What is that heirloom broach worth?  Or those earrings that have been passed down from generation to generation.

Aimee Berrent, Appraiser and Jewelry Consultant, will lead a free workshop exploring “What’s in your Grandma’s Jewelry Box” on Wednesday, May 22, 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at FirstLight Homecare, 109 – 123 Highland Avenue, Suite 301, Needham, MA  02494 (directly across from Panera Bread and between TD Bank and Petco).

Aimee M. Berrent, owner of A Matter of Brilliance, has been in the jewelry business for over 25 years.  A Graduate Gemologist, Ms. Berrent took courses in appraisals, diamonds, diamond grading, color stones, color stone grading, pearls, and restringing from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) in California.  In order to make sure she offers the most accurate and up-to-date appraisals, Aimee is constantly learning about advanced diamond grading and colored stone grading in ongoing education courses.

Knowing what your valuables are worth is always a sensible thing to do, being it your jewelry, watches or sterling silver. This is why it’s important to keep your appraisals up to date, especially given the continuing rise in the gold and gemstone markets.

How much is mom’s diamond brooch worth? Can you share inherited jewelry equitably? Are you giving jewelry as a gift to a family member, or someone else?

This interactive presentation encourages participants to ask questions and provide their own anecdotes.
