On Saturday, May 9th, the Samuel Fuller School will be holding its
second annual cross-country race at the Pratt Farm on Route 105 in
Middleborough. “We are expecting a great turnout this year,” said
Race Director Bobby Ewell, who coaches track and cross country at
Carver High School and is on the Board of Directors for the School.
“We have made some improvements in the course and are set for an
excellent day.” The race covers an adventurous course through some
beautiful conservation land in the town of Middleborough. The trail
winds through the forests of the Pratt Farm, across fields, over
streams, and past ponds and bogs.
Sponsors for the race include A& A Bike Shack, Dellarocco Landscape
Design, Greener Horizon, Jackson Plumbing, The Lobster Trap
Restaurant, Nichols Trucking Company, Paul Foley Electric Company,
Shotgunflat Creative Agency, Topnotch Design, and Winberg’s True
Value and Rental.
Registration begins at 9:00 AM. The Children’s Race, a one mile loop,
begins at 9:30 AM, followed by the 10k at 10:00 and the 5K at 10:15.
The children’s race is free for those under 12 years of age, while the
cost for the 10K is $20 on the day of the race and $15 for the 5K.
There will be live music, refreshments, a jump house for the kids
donated by Winberg’s True Value and Rental, a childcare corner for
little ones of participants, and medals awarded for top finishers in
several age brackets. Information will also be available for
families interested in learning more about the school. Come on up to
the beautiful Pratt Farm and join the fun!
