Greenwich Bay Chiropractic and Dr. Devon Barley proudly announce the opening of their new office on Monday, August 2nd. The new and natural healthcare provider is located at 16 Main Street, East Greenwich, RI 02818.

Dr. Devon Barley is a second generation Doctor of Chiropractic.  He found a love of chiropractic after being under chiropractic care from birth by his father, Dr. Dennis Barley who maintains a practice in Fairhaven, MA. The profound experience of less illness, quicker recovery from sports injuries and better overall health, inspired him to follow in his father’s footsteps.

An interesting personal note, in addition to his focus on healthcare, Dr. Devon Barley was a top 12 finalist on the hit television show “The Voice” in 2011.  He initially attended a casting call to support a friend and the rest is history.

A resident of Providence, Dr. Barley is married to Liz Barley, a Physician’s Assistant (PA) at Ortho Rhode Island, an Orthopedic practice. Liz is originally from Kingstown, RI.

Having graduated with a Bachelor’s in Biology from The University of Vermont and Cum Laude from Life University’s Doctor of Chiropractic program, Dr. Devon has had the pleasure of treating chiropractic patients for over 6 years.

Dr. Devon’s specific and gentle approach has helped thousands of men, women and children improve their lives.  He has treated neck or back pain, headaches or migraines, carpal tunnel, sciatica, or other health conditions.  His practice will also focus on family health and pregnancy.

Got your back during Covid-19. Chiropractic Society of Rhode Island offers help finding care during the pandemic.

In deference to patients suffering from pain and severe discomfort, Chiropractic Society of Rhode Island, representing over 60 chiropractic doctor offices throughout the Ocean State, underscore that many offices are open by appointment or via Tele-Health during the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic.

“Many of our chiropractic physicians are available to patients for emergency treatment,” noted Michael Zola, President of the Chiropractic Society of Rhode Island.  He added, “Many offices remain open for several reasons. One, as chiropractors we want to reduce unnecessary emergency room visits that may expose our patients to Covid-19.  Two, our colleagues are uniquely trained and qualified to provide the spinal manipulation that can help reduce pain and expand range of motion.  Three, the health of our patients  is our first priority.”

Chiropractic Society of Rhode Island encourage all chiropractors to follow the strictest guidelines of Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Rhode Island Department of Health (RI DOH).

Many insurance providers cover video/telemedicine at this time. Consumers should double check with their provider regarding coverage.

Norwell Spine & Sports Presents “Living Better” Workshop for Women on Dec. 1st

Norwell Spine & Sports, providers of orthopedic chiropractic care, nutritional counseling, sports rehabilitation and muscular therapy, will hold a “Living Better” workshop geared specifically towards women on Tuesday, December 1, 2009 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the South Shore Natural Science Center on Jacobs Lane (off Route 123) in Norwell.

Dr. Carol DeFranca, Board Certified Chiropractic Orthopedist and clinical director for FirstLine Therapy, a therapeutic lifestyle program, will lead the workshop and discuss women’s health issues and the latest in cutting edge health.

Topics to be covered include:

· Osteoporosis

· Hormone Replacement and menopausal symptoms

· Irregular menstrual cycles

· Weight loss (and inability to lose weight)

· Fatigue, irritability and mood swings

This is a FREE seminar. Nutritious refreshments will be provided.
