Leadership at a glance. Entromy and Contemporary Leadership Advisors Introduce AI-Enabled Organizational Network Analysis Solution

November 15, 2018 //  by admin

Steve Garcia

Making leaders more effective at driving change by leveraging key influencers

BOSTON, MA…

Entromy and Contemporary Leadership Advisors today announced the launch of a revolutionary organizational network analysis (ONA) solution that helps clients accelerate business transformation and improve organizational agility. The new solution, supported by Entromy’s Insights Platform, goes beyond standard ONA by integrating artificial intelligence and natural language processing to not only pinpoint key opinion leaders, but also uncover their perspective and insights in real-time.

Companies must adapt and transform themselves to stay relevant in today’s rapidly changing business environment. Yet, 70-90% of organizational transformation efforts fail. These failures often result from unanticipated market dynamics, an incomplete understanding of how the organization really functions, and a failure to gain the buy-in of employees needed for successful transformation. Entromy’s new ONA solution addresses these challenges by pinpointing and bringing to light the perspectives of employees with the most relevant insight. This real-time intelligence broadens leaders’ understanding and minimizes unforeseen risk. Moreover, by engaging with and incorporating the perspective of the most influential employees, leaders build commitment for the transformation. The diagnostic can be tailored to the context at the organization and deliver critical insights within 2-3 weeks. Typically conducted across the whole or parts of the organization with minimal level of time commitment from the teams far outweighing the benefits from alternative approaches.

“We see strong interest from private equity companies and growing organizations, who often place new executives and look for ways to make them immediately effective. Entromy’s new ONA capability achieves this by identifying the most influential employees who can inform the leader’s perspective and build the commitment of the broader organization,” said Jan Jamrich, Entromy’s CEO. “We’re delighted to be partnering with Contemporary Leadership Advisor, which has deep expertise in using organizational network analysis to make leaders successful.”

Entromy’s AI-enabled ONA solution maps the informal patterns of communication and interaction within an organization to uncover how employees really work with each other and customers to solve problems, make decisions, share information.  Built on extensive expertise and successfully deployed with multiple companies, Entromy’s ONA capabilities have helped clients successfully transform commercial operations, integrate multiple lines of business,

accelerate new product development, increase leadership bench strength, and uncover retention risks.

According to Steve Garcia, Managing Partner at Contemporary Leadership Advisors, “We’ve worked with Entromy for two years and our clients love the rapid insights uncovered by their artificial intelligence and natural language processing functionality. Integrating our ONA capabilities into the Entromy Insights Platform makes perfect sense and provides leaders with the level of insight needed to successfully drive organizational transformation.”

Old Colony Elder Services (OCES), the non-profit agency proudly serving older adults and individuals with disabilities throughout greater Plymouth County and surrounding communities, invites the community to join the #GivingTuesday movement and support the OCES Emergency Fund program. Coming just after Thanksgiving, in the same way that Black Friday and Cyber Monday kick off the holiday shopping season, #GivingTuesday kicks off the giving season.

Tuesday, November 27, 2018 is #GivingTuesday. Since its founding in 2012, #GivingTuesday has inspired giving around the world, resulting in greater donations, volunteer hours, and activities that bring about real change in communities. OCES’ Emergency Fund helps meet the needs of at-risk low-income older adults and individuals with disabilities who are in a crisis or emergency circumstance that threatens their health and/or living situation. All too frequently, these individuals encounter problems that can jeopardize their ability to maintain independence, dignity and well-being.

Last year, OCES raised $7,714 for their Emergency Fund. This year’s goal is to break the $10,000 mark.  With the number of individuals needing assistance increasing each year, OCES’ fundraising goal is to add to the Emergency Fund’s capacity so they can continue to make a critical difference in the lives of consumers served.  OCES’ Emergency Fund supports dozens of consumers throughout the year faced with unforeseen emergency events, answering urgent needs such as filling an empty fuel tank, repairing a broken furnace, or providing life-sustaining medications.

To make a donation to OCES’ Emergency Fund online, visit www.ocesma.org and click on #GivingTuesday. Donations may also be made by check or money order and mailed to OCES, 144 Main Street, Brockton, MA 02301.

Emerson Bearing Announces Special Bearings for Semiconductor & Medical Equipment Industries

October 31, 2018 //  by admin

Severe environments call for special bearings. Emerson Bearing Boston, a bearing company catering to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) and Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) markets around the world, offers special bearings for corrosive and electrically charged environments in the semiconductor and medical equipment industries.

Equipment in both the semiconductor and medical industries are subject to stringent cleaning, decontamination, and sterilization procedures which often involve the use of harsh, corrosive chemicals. In these highly corrosive environments, specialized corrosion-resistant bearings are required to ensure proper functioning. Those working on equipment in the semiconductor and medical industries should consider bearings made out of materials such as titanium or AISI 304, AISI 440, or AISI 630 stainless steel.

Electrical current can be incredibly damaging to metal components. For bearings, it can cause a wide range of problems, including fluting in the races, pitting of the ball bearings, and degradation of lubrication. Medical equipment such as magnetic resonance imagers (MRIs), for instance, all involve high-stress environments with a great deal of electrical activity.

Ceramic bearings, as well as ceramic insulated metal bearings, are ideal for highly electrically charged applications. Ceramic materials, with a few rare exceptions, are very poor conductors of electricity; although they can accept large voltages, they are able to dissipate that electricity extremely effectively. The passing electricity causes little to no degradation.

“For highly corrosive environments, standard bearings simply fall short. Corrosion-resistant bearings are required to ensure proper functioning,” explained Steve Katz, president of Emerson Bearing. “In electrically charged environments, utilizing bearings that are poor conductors of electricity is imperative.”

With a sourcing network that spans the globe, Emerson Bearing Boston caters to clients in the semiconductor and medical equipment industries with a wide selection of severe-environment bearings that include: Ball and roller bearings from GMN, KOYO, and others; Cam followers and yoke rollers from Carter, IKO, and others; Rod ends from Durbal and FK; Oil seals from Garlock, Dichtomatik, and Timkens; Mounted units from AMI, IPTCI, and others; Roller chains from Daido, Hitachi, and Drives; and Bushings from IGUS and Oilite.

Katz continued, “When choosing the right type of bearing material for your specific application, the conditions must be kept in mind. Our team of bearing experts can assist in the right bearing selection and equip customers with the knowledge needed to avoid costly pitfalls and downtime.”

For more information, visit Emersonbearing.com or call 800-225-4587.

New safety app available on Cape Cod. Steering you in the right direction, Safety app connects injured to immediate help.

October 25, 2018 //  by admin

The new, innovative Aiken Safety smartphone app is now available to Cape Cod residents and may be a lifesaver for local families in the event of a car accident. Aiken and Aiken, the sponsoring law group, maintain offices at 83 Main Street, Hyannis, MA and 205 Worcester Court, Falmouth, MA.

Available at the Law Offices of Aiken & Aiken website, www.aikenandaikenpc.com, and other standard portals that apps are found, including the App Store and Google Play, the innovative app is built to discern a major impact auto accident and alert via text your predesignated family and friends. The app also pinpoints the accident site so that your designees can alert emergency personnel and provide critical information.

The app automatically detects when you’ve been in a car accident by using the Integral sensors (accelerometer and GPS) of your smartphone. The app algorithm, designed using actual car crash data from the National Highway Safety Administration (NHTSA), accurately detects the difference between an actual car crash versus, for example, a dropped phone.

“The safety app and program is our proactive effort to promote better tools and information for Cape Codders and visitors to remain safe and sound,” noted Attorney Paul Aiken.

In addition to the cutting edge app, the safety program and Aiken and Aiken website include an Aiken Safety App video and additional information outlining Driving Safety Rules of the Road and Bike and Pedestrian Safety. The website and app also provide a link to Professional Driving Schools, a leading driving school serving the entire Cape and based in Hyannis.

Decals depicting safe driving, bicyclists and pedestrians are also available and are intended to remind all of us to put safety first. The 1,000 BeSafeRules.com Safety decals will be available in early November for distribution at the law office, Cape Cod Chambers of Commerce, and the Professional Driving School in Hyannis. Other distribution points will be established going forward.

For more information, visit Law Offices of Aiken & Aiken website, www.aikenandaikenpc.com or call 508-771-2266.
