Between Rounds announces partnership with Connecticut Foodshare to help fight hunger

September 26, 2025 //  by admin

MANCHESTER, EAST WINDSOR, SOUTH WINDSOR, TOLLAND AND VERNON, CT… Between Rounds Bakery Sandwich Café, the unique bagel shop with five locations in Connecticut and wholesale bagel supplier to grocery retailers, has announced a partnership with Connecticut Foodshare to help people in need of food assistance.

Since 2020, the food insecure population in Connecticut has increased by 40 percent.

Between Rounds has rolled out a new breakfast sandwich known as “The B.E.C.C.A.”, made with bacon, egg, cheese, Hellman’s Chipotle sauce and avocado on a bagel or croissant.

For every BECCA sandwich sold, Between Rounds is donating 50 cents to Connecticut Foodshare to help provide food for individuals and families facing hunger.

“The BECCA is becoming a very popular breakfast sandwich here at Between Rounds and now it will help to make a difference in our community,” said Jerry Puiia, co-founder of Between Rounds. “We’re committed to supporting our neighbors in need and our partnership with Connecticut Foodshare will help fight hunger in our community.”

The BECCA breakfast sandwich is available at all Between Rounds stores: East Windsor; South Windsor; Vernon; Manchester and Tolland, CT.  To view locations, visit betweenroundsbagels.com.

“In Connecticut, 1 in 7 residents, including 1 in 6 children, is facing food insecurity. With rates on the rise, we’re especially grateful for partners like Between Rounds who are stepping up in creative and generous ways. Their campaign, donating proceeds from the sale of their new breakfast sandwich, will help provide much-needed healthy meals to our neighbors facing hunger. This kind of community-driven support is essential to our mission. We applaud Between Rounds’ commitment to building a hunger-free community and hope it inspires others to support this local business making a real difference,” Jason Jakubowski, President and CEO, Connecticut Foodshare.
