Solar Slate Solutions Announces New Training Program for Solar Installers

December 1, 2023 //  by admin

BILLERICA, MA… Solar Slate Solutions, based in Billerica, MA and serving installers of solar panels including solar companies, roofers and general contractors throughout the United States, has announced a new Training Program.

Solar Slate Solutions is the home of the patented Solar Slate Plate, a revolutionary product that allows solar panels to be attached without compromising the beauty and integrity of a slate roof.

David Tomolillo, Solar Slate’s president and owner

Geared to installers of solar panels, the Training Program is led by David Tomolillo, Solar Slate’s president and owner, who trains installation teams on-site, in real-time on a slate roof in one day. Tomolillo provides training to residential and commercial installation teams across the U.S.

There is also a “Do It Yourself” option where Solar Slate Solutions provides the training video and product. Solar panel installers, including solar companies, roofers and general contractors, may purchase the video and components directly from Solar Slate Solutions to complete the installation themselves.

“Our Solar Slate Plate is an innovative solution that enables seamless solar panel installation on slate roofs. Our product installs quickly and flawlessly; it doesn’t require slate removal and it’s affordable,” said Tomolillo. “In one day, Solar Slate Solutions can train an entire team on-site in the installation of solar panels on slate roof.”

Quick & Efficient Installation
Solar Slate Plate’s patented design allows for a quicker, more efficient installation, reducing the usual time and labor costs and increasing a solar installer/solar company’s margins. Solar Slate has already been adopted by a number of solar installation companies.

Tomolillo spent the last four years developing, testing, manufacturing and patenting this revolutionary new product for mounting solar panels on slate roofs. Solar Slate Plate also works on synthetic slate, stone, French tile or flat stone, as well as on wood cedar roofing.

Prior to Solar Slate, the installation of solar panels on a slate roof required the actual removal of slates. With this innovative solution, that is no longer the case. Solar Slate Plate takes minutes to install and uses a patented spacer technology to ensure no slates are damaged during the installation process or beyond.

Solar Slate Plate Kit
The innovative Solar Slate Kit includes everything needed to install 20 mounts. It includes:
20 x Solar Slate Plate Flashing; 20 x Adjustable Spacers; 20 x 5.5” Stainless Lag Bolts and 20 x Stainless / butyl washers. Solar Slate will also recommend the appropriate sealant options.

Solar Slate Solutions caters to suppliers and installers of solar panels, including solar companies, roofers, electricians and general contractors, in commercial or residential installation projects.

Solar Slate Solutions, LLC, a division of Hallmark Homes Associates, is owned and operated by David Tomolillo. Solar Slate Solutions is headquartered in Billerica, MA.

For more information visit www.solarslatesolutions.com. To arrange a training session, contact David Tomolillo at 781-870-7570 or email info@solarslatesolutions.com

Boys & Girls Club of Marshfield Receives Generous Donation from Briteway Car Wash

November 27, 2023 //  by admin

MARSHFIELD, MA … Cruising through Briteway’s Haunted Car Wash in Marshfield just prior to Halloween has become a thrilling tradition for many South Shore families. But, what some may not realize is that the frightfully fun event supports a significant number of families in need.

More than 420 cars cruised through the Haunted Car Wash this year, raising over $10,500 in proceeds. Briteway generously matched that amount and then some – donating a total of $21,668 to the Boys & Girls Club of Marshfield in support of their scholarship program which helps families in need.

Scholarships are granted for the Club’s Before School and After School programs which offer homework help, mentoring, guidance, club activities, sports and recreational activities, breakfast and snacks. Transportation from Marshfield elementary schools to the Club is also included as part of the After School program.

“Briteway and the Vercollone family have been tremendous long-time supporters of the Boys & Girls Club of Marshfield,” said Jim Bunnell, CEO of the Boys & Girls Club of Marshfield. “We’re incredibly grateful for their generous donation which provides essential funding for scholarships for families in need.”

This year’s Haunted Car Wash theme was a haunted campground known as “Camp Scream” which had an elaborately decorated set based on old fashioned horror films complete with ghouls and other costumed characters approaching the vehicles. The event was held October 27 and 28, 2023 and was sponsored by Tiny & Sons Glass.

Bunnell continued, “Thank you to our sponsors as well as the dozens of volunteers who did a terrific job setting the stage and portraying spooky characters to provide South Shore families with an outstanding experience.”

The sun rises on Safe Harbor Vineyard Haven. Solar energy installation completed.

Safe Harbor solar energy

October 26, 2023 //  by admin

Safe Harbor Vineyard Haven has a brighter future for many reasons. The marina and boatyard recently installed 32 solar modules/solar panels on top of its marina offices.

Battling the forecasted hurricane in mid-September, the solar energy system was installed and is engineered to withstand up to 140mph winds.

Chris Scott, General Manager of Safe Harbor Vineyard Haven and Safe Harbor Edgartown, commented, “We are delighted to add solar energy to our Vineyard Haven marina. This new, robust system helps offset our energy usage to become increasingly neutral.”

He added, “The solar installation is part of our organization’s focus on renewable energy and environmental stewardship.”

The solar project is as large as Eversource will currently permit and includes 32 modules, 400 watts each.  The 12.8kW system can generate 16,752kWh annually.

Safe Harbor Vineyard Haven, an AMI Accredited Clean and Resilient Marina, is a full-service facility that includes slips, valet racks (in & out rack service), inside storage, mechanic shop, and fuel dock. An angler’s paradise for sport fishing, the surrounding waters are ideal for reeling in striped bass, bonita, bluefish, and more.
