“Retired” but somehow busier than ever?

June 23, 2026 //  by admin

Seminar at Cohasset Senior Center set for Thursday, July 30 at 1 pm

Many of us have worked so hard, perhaps attended college (or beyond), and made many sacrifices. Yet, it is easy to be chewed up by shifting technology, corporate consolidation or office politics. Now that you are of a certain age, what is next? Thoughts about volunteering, hobbies, health, and personal goals? Segueing to a career of greater meaning?

A seminar titled “Senior Encore. Planning your next chapter.” will be held at the Cohasset Senior Center, Willcutt Commons, 91 Sohier Street, Cohasset, MA 02025 and is set for Thursday, July 30 at 1 pm. The seminar will be led by Mike Dwyer of Emplana, a career consultant.

You survived office politics. You mastered Zoom (mostly). You outlasted at least three corporate reorganizations. Surely you can figure out what’s next — with a little help.

Whether it’s meaningful work, consulting, volunteering, or finally doing something you actually enjoy, this seminar will help you map it out — without the corporate jargon or 40-hour weeks.

After a long career in the private and public sectors, consulting stints with Ernst & Young and Deloitte Consulting and a Master’s Degree in Management from Salve Regina University, Michael Dwyer and a select group of advisors developed Emplana, the career pathway.

Emplana Career, based at Cambridge Innovation Center, primarily helps seniors discover their next chapter and white-collar professionals, especially in tech, financial services and accounting, law, risk, and professional services. Emplana Career consultants have had high powered careers that involve leading advanced technology and business projects, which keeps the consulting advice current and relevant.

For more information about Emplana Career or the seminar, contact Mike Dwyer, mikedwyer@emplanacareer.com, (781) 910-2703.
