Old Colony Elder Services (OCES), the largest provider of in-home and community-based services for older adults and people living with disabilities in greater Plymouth County is participating in the March for Meals campaign, a national effort to raise awareness about senior hunger and the importance of nutrition services.
The March for Meals campaign is a month-long initiative that kicks off March 1, 2026.
OCES’ Nutrition Department is facing unprecedented budget deficits that could threaten their ability to provide essential meals and other nutrition services to vulnerable older adults.
This year’s campaign also comes at a time when consumers are facing skyrocketing food prices and food insecurity continues to increase across the region.
While OCES has efficiently utilized its resources, it is still facing a budget deficit that puts the Nutrition Program at risk. A donation to OCES will help to bridge the budget gap and ensure that their Nutrition programs continue to provide:
· Nutritious Meals on Wheels to homebound older adults who rely on us for sustenance
· Community Dining meals and socialization opportunities that combat loneliness and isolation
· Nutrition education and counseling that promotes healthy eating habits
OCES’ goal during this campaign is to raise $20,000.
Every donation brings OCES closer to their goal of ensuring that no older adult in the community goes hungry. A donation of $25 will fund 3 meals; a donation of $100 will fund 12 meals.
Craig and Diana DiGiorgi are generously matching all donations made to OCES in support of the Nutrition Program up to $5,000.
