Boys & Girls Club of Marshfield Appoints New Athletics Coordinator

May 6, 2019 //  by admin

The Boys & Girls Club of Marshfield, a youth development organization providing programs and services to children and families throughout the greater South Shore community, has appointed Lacey Pustizzi, a former professional field hockey player, as Athletics Coordinator.

In her new role as Athletics Coordinator, Pustizzi oversees sports and athletics for all ages, from Kindergarten to high school, at the Boys and Girls Club of Marshfield. Pustizzi is responsible for implementing and managing travel teams, intramural leagues, and the Open Gym program as well as further expanding the Club’s athletics programming. She runs a variety of different sports teams at the Club – from lacrosse, field hockey and floor hockey, to football and baseball – complete with house roster and rankings.

Pustizzi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing from Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY. After graduation in 2002, she was appointed Assistant Field Hockey Coach at Colgate University in Hamilton, NY and went on to become Assistant Field Hockey Coach at Yale University in New Haven, CT followed by Graduate Assistant Field Hockey Coach at Lock Haven University in Lock Haven, PA. Pustizzi has also served as Assistant Women’s Lacrosse Coach at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA; Head Women’s Field Hockey/Assistant Lacrosse Coach at Roanoke College in Salem, VA; and Assistant Field Hockey Coach at Towson University, Towson, MD.

As a professional field hockey player, Pustizzi was goalkeeper for Black Boys Hockey Club in Geneva, Switzerland, where she competed in the championship game of the Swiss Cup in 2013. Upon returning to the U.S., she was Assistant Field Hockey Coach at Boston University for over a year.

Pustizzi is on the Board of Directors and also serves as Marketing and Public Relations Manager for North East Premier League Inc. (NEPL), a nonprofit organization which provides a competitive post-collegiate field hockey league in Boston. Pustizzi was instrumental in starting the league in 2013 and helped to create the national tournament.

For the past five years, Pustizzi has worked as Multimedia & Member Services Coordinator at Kingsbury Club & Spa in Kingston, MA.

She is a native and resident of Hingham, MA.

“We’re very fortunate to have Lacey on board leading our athletic program,” said Jim Bunnell, CEO of Boys & Girls Club of Marshfield. “We’d like to develop leagues with other Boys & Girls Clubs, as well as expand beyond team sports to include a number of fun fitness programs. Lacey is a renowned coach who has the knowledge and experience to take our Club’s athletics programming to the next level.”

Afterschool & Enrichment Programming

Afterschool programming is led by the Club’s team of program directors and encompasses many areas including: Career Development; Character & Leadership; Creativity Through the Arts; Education Enrichment Programming; Family Programming; Sports, Fitness & Recreation; Health & Life Skills; Learning Center; Programming for Children with Development Disabilities; and Technology. Tutors and instructors help children with their homework in the Club’s learning center, and there is a computer center for STEAM and STEM programming.

In addition to the afterschool program, the Club also offers a number of fun enrichment programs to youth and teens, which are open to members and non-members alike.
