Action Bearing Launches Packaging & Food Processing Division

April 28, 2010 //  by admin

Action Bearing, a Boston based bearing company catering to OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers) and MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Operations) markets throughout the U.S., has recently announced a new division to specifically cater to Packaging and Food Processing customers.

Action Bearing’s customer care representatives in the new Packaging and Food Processing division are trained to accommodate the unique needs of clients in this industry. The division is led by Lee Holt, an industry solutions expert at Action Bearing.

Packaging and Food Processing are usually fully automated and often take place under extreme operating conditions. It requires low maintenance, special hygiene requirements and operational reliability.

Action Bearing’s knowledgeable Packaging and Food Processing team assists clients in determining which bearing technologies would be most suitable by taking into consideration the specifications, recommendations, maintenance strategies, fatigue life and wear resistance of the bearing in relation to the application.

The company offers special solutions to Packaging and Food Processing clients such as best in class corrosion resistant pillow blocks at affordable price points which are available with triple lip seals. For high load positions in filling plants, Action offers several slewing ring options such as four point contact bearings or crossed roller bearings. Other related products available through Action Bearing include: ball bearings, stainless steel mounted units, roller chains, V belts, Linear motion, adhesives and sealants, Cam followers, rod ends, thrust bearings, control bearings and needle roller bearings. With a vast inventory, Action Bearing provides the 24/7 service that is critical to the operations of many of their clients.

Determining Why a Bearing Fails

As part of their customer care, Action provides clients with the unique service of “Bearing Failure Analysis” which helps them determine the cause of bearing failure so that they may prevent future failure and predict reliability. Or, if clients desire to do so, they can utilize the Bearing Failure Analysis program within the Technical Toolbox on the Action Bearing website.

“We’ve experienced significant growth in the packaging and food processing markets over the last couple of years. Due to the increased demand, we’ve created an entire division to specifically cater to their needs,” noted Steve Katz, president of Action Bearing.
